BETTER WIN: Pacquiao vs Barrera 1 or Mayweather vs Corrales?

Corrales. Jk MAB of course. But Corrales isn't far behind.

 

I know a lot of people hate on Floyd on here but to say Pacquiao's win is better clearly shows you're a Pac fan and not a boxing fan. This is not to take anything from Barrera because he is a HOFer, but when he lost to Paq he had already lost to Junior Jones twice and to Eric Morales.

When Diego and Mayweather fought both were undefeated and considered top PFP fighters. Many had Mayweather as the underdog for that fight and he easily destroyed Corrales. Corrales was dominated from start to finish and it completely astonished viewers. Diego was a good bud of mine and I was completely shocked as to the way he was dominated.

 

Yea let's ignore that MAB is a top 50 p4p fighter all time. Just throw that out the window.

Not ignoring it. I guess you need to look at it two ways. As of right now, when you look at both fighters careers, I can agree and say that win over Barrera is better.

However, if you go back to when you watched those fights live, I saw Floyd's win over Corrales as the bigger more impressive win.

At the time, Barrera came in with several losses. I expected him to win, and saw Pac's win as very impressive.

The Corrales fight though, forget about what happened after the fight. Going into the fight he was undefeated and a KO artist. A lot of people expected Chico to win the fight. Those who favored Mayweather at least expected it to be competitive. The demolition of Chico was at the time the bigger win. Nobody had dominated Chico like that.

Hindsight is 20/20. Not presentsight. Once you look back at the past and the shades of the present are removed your vision becomes more clear.

In that respect we can see why Barrera was the better win. And why the poll is overwhelmingly agreeing.

 

They don't want to revisit when those fights took place, they want to go off of his status today(MAB)... It's a bias way to look at it imo..

 

Agreed. I see it as two-fold - I think a good way to look at it is by saying that the Floyd win over Corrales was the bigger win; the Pac win over Barrera was the more significant win.
