The problem is that he didn't beat Lewis. Are guys like Peter and Adamek and Areola really much better than what Carnera was beating?
Tommy Loughran and Young Stribling are listed as good opponents for Primo; both studiously avoided black boxers. Loughran fought 125 times without fighting a black boxer, the record of which speaks for itself. Stribling fought over 250 fights, and no black boxers! He was blatantly racist; I don't know about Loughren but it certainly looks that way. At least Carnera got into the ring with a couple black boxers.
Re: Better Wins: Vitali or Primo? Who has the better win basically boils down to Primo (KO 06 Sharkey) and Vitali (WU 12 Briggs), IMHO. I have to go with Primo's KO 06 over Sharkey, which I will take as a legitimate win unless overwhelming proof to the contrary surfaces.
Sharkey beat agressive 220 lbs George Godfrey and 215 lbs Harry Wills who was much better fighter than a scrub like Arreola. Seriously, Arreola is a fat punching bag and you act like it's something amazing to beat him. Adamek beat him despite not being significantly bigger than Sharkey.
Wills was an old as **** jab and grab artist. Goddfrey has loses to a phone book of smaller or inferior fighters to Arreola, if not not both.
There isn't a top rated HW over the past 100 years who would quit against a guy who only had a week to prepare and was 45 pounds lighter. Dave Allen took savage bombs from monstrous puncher Price for multiple rounds before he quit. Byrd had the power to punch a hole through half an inch of sheet rock.
