One of the judges has to wear a police bracelet. Why such a person was selected to judge the most significant heavyweight fight in years is beyond me. Then there was a circus with the gloves. Ok--nothing big yet outside of the bad pick for one judge. Now I see the betting line rapidly in decline with rumors of Russian mob people betting heavy on Povetkin. In boxing the promoter / winner of the purse bid picks the judges and they Russian. Is Wlad going to be fighting the judges, and possibly the referee who may be very anti clinching in this fight too? We'll see. If I'm in Wlad's camp I tell him, forget putting on a show for the fans, and if possible do not let this one go to the cards.
That is in fact a little suspicious. I'm actually hoping for Wlad to win this within the distance this time.
erm is that a bad thing :huh any fighter that clinches alot should be docked points, wlad's physical advantages alone should be enough to not let it get anywhere near the scorecards, sadly i hope im wrong but i see another one sided beatdown for a overmatched klitchko opponent
The rumours of Russian Mafia betting on Povetkin have been reported by very good sources, but short money shortening odds on a local fighter in a big fight is absolutely normal. Moscovites wake up this morning and a Russian fighter is being lionised all over the television, what you think?
He knows he has to KO him, and he will. Russian mob betting heavy on Povetkin is to be expected. They know the fix is in, and they can loundry a lot of dirty money when Pov somehow lasts the distance without being completely outclassed and put down a couple of times.
I think Wald needs to win at least 8-4 on normal cards or he will be robbed. We did not see the betting line drop like this in the Haye fight and the Brits love to back their man The stage has been set for a robbery. Lucky for Wlad he's got the best guns.
I'm all for the referee being fair with clinches for once in a Klit fight. Octopus Wlad can get away with anything in Germany, this time it'll hopefully be different and he's gonna have to fight for a change.
Best way is to end the fight with a KO, wont be easy........think everything will bee arranged for Povetkin win, including the ref that will do what he can to prevent a KO
Yes it did. It was discussed toroughly here on the forum. Wlad started out as about a 1/3 or even 1/4 favorite I believe and at the time of the fight it was narrowed all the way down to 2/3.
bear in mind, that the Moscow crowd has already seen two disappointing defeats this year: Lebedev getting brutalised by GullieROID Jones, then Chak getting KTFO'd by Wlod, the pressure to finally see their hometown boy winning will be unbearable, Wlad will need 3 knockdowns just to get a draw on the cards
Well Wlad did bring his lap dog with him, Thomas Putz of the BDB (Why he's involved with the fight in Russia).....so it's likely he'll have things in his favor as usual.
Bovada actually has Wlad down to -400 and Povtekin+300.. That is a big swing in 24hrs. I'm not worried about the judges, as i can't see Wlad getting out boxed. But I can say i don't care for the Ref, and the way he protected Povetkin vs. Huck. That fight had a chance to end completely different had Pabon not wanted his 15min of TV time. Though if K2 didn't have a problem and request a change, it's on them should it play an effect.
