both these guys wanted to break the record, neither of them seemed to particularly like Marciano or were fans of his, but between the two of them who do think respected Marciano and appreciated the 49-0 more

I doubt whether Mayweather has even seen an Ali fight let alone a Marciano fight. Great boxer but doesn’t seem to know a lot or care about others fighters. He’s obviously never read a book about either of them (or ever in general).

Mayweather he cried when he watched Duran quit in the 'no mas' fight he also stated Duran and Whitaker would have given him his toughest fight.

Marciano would have found it easier to carry Floyd`s jockstrap.

Mayweather isn't a heavyweight. Marciano's record is a heavyweight exclusive.

Both recognize the record .. Holmes maybe for history , Floyd for the financial promotional angle ..

I thin Holmes genuinely wanted the record. Mayweather just did it as a dumb promo angle.

I don’t believe that, antman. Where did you hear that? Mayweather would have been only 2 or 3 years old when Duran quit against Leonard.

Yes, he said it to Merchant at a press conference after one of his fights.
