Manny Steward's fighters will generally have a good defence and a brain for fighting - Lee doesn't have this, his 'rookieness' is there for all to see!

That said, Steward seems more suited to heavier fighters - his success stories include Lennox and Wlad.

Your an English *****, theres no fighter more hyped in world boxing than Ricky Hatton.57000 fans there to watch him fight a semi-retired lightweight who nearly KOs him in the process.**** off arsehole we all know who the biggest hyped fighter in world boxing is, and its not John Duddy.

    Marty,

I may be English, but judging by your tone I certainly know a great deal more about boxing than you. Since when has nationality determined my opinion of a fighter?

Read my previous posts on this and other threads.

If I had said 'Duddy is a stupid Paddy and will be KTFO by the first American he fights' then you would have a point. It is clear to any non-nuthugger that a fighter with decent stamina, chin and pop will expose him - he is brave and has bottle, but that only takes you so far in this game.

Hatton had 57000 fans to watch him because they love him - if he was 43-10-7 I would bet decent money that most of them would still come and watch. In terms of a semi retired lightweight, Lazcano had been competing at 140 for a fair few fights in reasonable company, and was certainly in decent shape for the fight, in that he didn't have the look of a semi-retired fighter. And as for the almost KO - do me a favour. Hurt yes, but ready to go.... not for me.

There are many other hypejobs in boxing currently, notably Solis, Gamboa, Khan et al - certainly more so than Hatton is, or ever has been.

Because that dickhead poster made the remark that Duddy and for some reason he mention Lee who surprise, surprise happens to be Irish also, well the poster made the comment that these two IRISH fighters are the most hyped in world boxing, I'm making the point , that their not , it's Hatton.

he should not be in a tough fight with either of them.

campas and bonsante are too small to start with and are too old to give any real fight....yet there we are we have duddy fighting his heart out against them 2. most people were a disappointed when the cut happend with bonsante as it was a close fight.

eastman i would give him some respect for...but eastman is a middlewieght audley harrison. good jab decent cross and athletic...but doesnt have the balls...he is a boxer puncher but he doesnt have the tools to make it work....duddy just ploughed into him. very similar to how jerry quarry was able to beat larenxo zanon. just by walking through him. and eastman was WAY past his prime.

agaisnt pavlik. duddy is too small, to hittable, hasnt got the power and hasnt fought on the higher ground. speed, agility are aside

the guy should make light middlewieght. good pickings he can make it and he will be able to fight good opposition while not having that much disadvantages

to me lockett is a poor man's duddy... and as duddy showed in his last fight he simply doesn't belong in the elite level. exciting to watch? yes. and i wishi him well, but unfortunately he would be better off trying to boil down to junior middle where might might be able to make a mark for himself. he will get pounded like lockett, only i give him an extra couple rounds tops.

The fact that they are Irish has absolutely nothing to do with my opinion. I have said that many English fighters are hyped, ditto Americans, Mexicans et al.

i feel lee is the better fighter even though he was beaten by a limited vera.

lee got into a dog fight with guy who had nothing but a right hand. he will comebak with a better defence and a more snappy jab...manny is no fool. andy just walked into shots all night long.

duddy walks into shots in every fight of his

as i have said above light middle is his division to reach he has made it before and somtimes overshoots in training. thats good enough for me. he would be fighting ex welters and lower level fighters...but the expereince is there without being outgunned

Marty - Ricky Hatton has won world titles at two weights despite many believing he would never get that far. I've never heard Hatton hype, if anything most people, himself included, accept that he has exceeded expectation.

You need to learn what hype is.

Also ESB need to have a minimum age requirement for posters so that 9 year olds can not post stupid comments on here.

I was perhaps a little too positive regarding Lazcano, in hindsight!

But he was hardly a chump, was he?
