Your being childish now. Hatton is overhyped, he shouldn't be in the Ring mag p4p for a start. There are different levels of over hypeing a fighter.For instance Mayweather is also vastly over hyped. Do you honestly believe that the pretty boy doesnt cherry pick his opponents?He cherry picked Hatton so to avoid the big names at welter, yet hes lauded as this great fighter, maybe the greatest fighter of all time if you listen to some of the over hyped rubbish thats wrote about him.

I agree the caliber of duddys opponents have been quite poor, but at the same time he has showed a lot of promise, the Eastman fight being one example where he boxed very well. People should also bear in mind that John has only 24 fights under his belt and Pavlik only really started fighting quality opponents around his 27th fight in my opinion. I'm not saying Duddy will beat Pavlik, but i think there is a lot of room for improvement and with a good trainer (hopefully Pat Burns) could sure up his defence.
Selling tickets is of course important in the boxing industry, i feel there is a lot people out there attacking Duddy because he can sell tickets but is not a world beater yet, give the man a break he's still learning his trade and if he can make money for imself whislt doing that, fair play to him. Im sure Pavlik wasnt the monster he is now, when he was 24-0. Also, amoung boxing fans Duddy is far from overhyped, in fact is hard to hear a good word spoken about him.

There wasn't that much (if any) call for a PBF/Cotto fight prior to PBF/Hatton - which had been building since June 2005.

They are both charismatic fighters with a large fan base at home and in the states. People were calling for the big fights too early.

 

Your maybe not as bad, as I thought previous. BTW I'm a big Ricky Hatton fan, disappointed me big style when he didn't bust PBFM up. I still think Ricky is overhyped, but that's not always a bad thing, as it brings money and attention to the sport.:good
