Interesting that Jay-z, who has been making some VERY generous offers to fighters, and planning to be a promotional force in boxing, has a strained relationship with Al Haymon. Keith Thurman, for example, was offered a LOT of money to sign with J, but turned it down. Now it makes a bit more sense why, but the kid clearly overvalued his own earning potential. I think signing with Jay-z could be very rewarding, and it looks like Rigo may take that path. We'll see.
In light of the fact that Roc Nation is making moves in the industry your post is appropriate. I wonder how things will shake up the industry if Roc Nation actually purchases Gary Shaw Promotions? (which I believe is near possible completion)
Could be a huge factor in boxing. Nobody seems to really be taking Roc Nation seriously as a major player, but it could play a huge role in boxing in the months and years to come. They have a lot of money and power behind them.
I don't like how everyone is getting their hand in the boxing industry. Too many hands in the cookie jar and it's going to segregate boxing and rob us of the fights we deserve.
I don't view it that way my friend. I feel we need some new blood to wash away all this "I refuse to work with A due to B":good JZ has placed some very high bids on fights and if he can get one guy away from Big Al others will follow and we will see more competitive fights. I hope:nut :smoke
