thats why he fought "bums" like James Toney and Bernard Hopkins isn't?

Incredible the amount of negativity jones gets today, go back and watch his fights, like him or not - in the ring he was a genius. No one at his peak was on his level, thats the real problem roy faced, he could have took out all the names in that list and there would still be people saying but he didn't beat this one etc. Again watch the man fight have my suspicions that roy was avoided far more than he avoided anyone, it was no wonder as he really was special. As much as i like benn/eubank/collins etc, roy would have took them apart, also always got the feeling that roy at times much like ali sometimes held back in the ring and had more gears to go up if needed! Really was a fighter that comes along once a life-time, even the people that criticise roy deep down know he was an exceptional talent, yeah maybe he missed out on fights but lets be honest if these fights were made, was only going to be one winner. Would love to have seen a mclellan v jones fight reckon mclellan would have been dangerous for the first couple of rounds but jones would get a dominant win in the end, can't quite remember did gerald beat roy in the ams?
