ok tonight me and and a close friend decided to go watch the khan v mccloskey fight followed by berto v ortiz. a bit of context here is we are both originally from ireland living in toronto. so anyways we go to a well known sports bar in the city . i ring beforehand to see do they have the boxing which they state they do. anyways we get there no HBO . so then we have to get in a taxi to go the biggest sports bar in the city. at this stage there is 6 of us and i,ve promised them a cracking event . so we get to this place and they have every sport televised except the boxing. i go up to the dj in control of tv and ask him would he mind turning on the hbo boxing. he tells me they dont have permission to show hbo boxing as they need a commercial licence even though it aint PPV. he also tells me they might not even show pacquaio fight as there speculative on the demand for the fight. this has happened twice to me in toronto. i,m beyound frustration with the sport of boxing and can so see why casual fans of our sport switch to MMA. at least with the UFC its advertised, promoted and you know where its on. boxing seems to zero consideration for the likes of casual fan . i love boxing and will always love it but really am getting sickened by the bull**** that goes with. thanks for listening to my rant. a disgruntled fan :-(
