Bernard Hopkins is motivated by Haymon being on the scene and in control of making great fights. He is excited that Haymon sees how to lay out the network landscape to make a unification of the LHW titles a possible reality for him. He feels that after he takes the titles from Shumenov, he can set a fight with Stevenson and achieve title unification. I have to admit, Al Haymon is presently the best thing to happen for boxing as he is stacking the deck to navigate about the Goosen's and Arum's of the boxing world. :yep
When Kovalev was Hopkin's mandatory, Hopkins refused to fight him. Hopkins said he would never fight Kovalev or Stevenson...............
He's looking way past Shumenov..This might back fire on Hopkins .Though I doubt it wouldn't that be a shock.
Hopkins is counting on winning a decision in D.C. where he owns the referee and judges, like Khan Vs. Peterson for example. Shumenov needs to knock Hopkins out or he will lose every round. Shumenov is good fighter, underrated, but all Hopkins has to do is lay on the ropes and do rope-a-dope, does not need to throw many punches if any. Watch and see..............
All BS talk from Hopkins. He knows full well that Kolavev - Stevenson is coming up later in the year (if both get by their next fights) so neither will be available.
if the fight would actually happen B-Hop would be knocked out. But I'll be rooting for him like a mad man. But let's see if he can beat Beibutt first.
Because Stevenson went to Al Haymon this fight will probably happen, Kovalev might be left out the picture, Kovalev beats them both
Yeah^^. It'll come down to whichever of Hopkins or Kovalev's team offers Stevenson the most money. Should be interesting. Duva and Kov won't be able to cry duck if there's considerably more money on the table for a Stevenson-Hopkins fight.
