Calzaghe stepping up to light heavy weight after being at super middle for so long. Does anyone think this would pose a problem to him?

It could do but Joe has been big at 168 for a while & I think his body has been ready to make the move up for sometime. In the same way weight didnt end up being a factor for Hopkins it wont be for Joe in my opinion.

yes it did, Bernard to me doesnt look like the same fighter he was when he was at 160. Even though he hasnt lost yet, I still think he doesnt look at his best. I know hes 43, but the B-hop that fought Taylor hasnt transfered o the bhop at 175 IMO

i don't think it will affect him much. Hopefully it gives him more power and I don't think his hand speed will be affected at all. maybe foot speed though

Absolutely. He'll lose speed and agility. Maybe only a very small amount, but that small amount is what distinguishes elite fighters from their competition and keeps them from getting hit. Just ask Roy Jones Jr.

  7. At only a 6 or 7 lb jump it won't make a difference:verysad at 5 11 or 6" he's easily tall enough to carry the extra weight, Calzaghe is going to win regardless, he just throws to much for the old man to keep up with.

    CALZAGHE UD.

any negatives effects will be offset by the benefits of not having to stuggle to make weight.

I dont think itll be much of a problem, he had struggled to make 168 for a long time and its not like he'll be facing a guy who drains down to make 175.

In Joe's book he says his walk around weight is 14stone 2-3 around 200lbs.

Dont forget he's fought at Light-Heavyweight before, check his record.

He seems to think he'll do better at LHW because he wont have to starve himself the week before the fight.

    I think he'll be better.
