it would have been great to see him go till he was in his 40's... i wonder if his body could hold up

edit: & please keep the negative talk somewhere else... stick to the question

His game relies on his speed and reflexes...no way he'll be anywhere near as good.

i think so if his body stays healthy. the thing is tho, he relies a lot on his speed refelxes now so when those diminish, he's gonna have to compensate with pure experience, or whatever else he has.

I don't believe game relies solely on those attribytes at all. Are you insinuating he would be another roy jones once his legs went? he has a boxing brain.

you could say the same thing about bhop or shane..... i think all these guys stay in tremendous shape and their health lasts longer than most people

bhop is FOURTY TWO! and hasnt shown any physical signs of weakening, or slowing down.
shane is THIRTY SEVEN! and hasnt shown any physical signs of weakening, or slowing down.

His hands are already knackered and I'm not surprised the number of punches he throws in training and how hard he works. He could go on for a few more fights easily, but 40's,I doubt it

No he has injured his shoulder a few times i believe. And i have heard him say on numerous occasions how he hyper extended his elbow.

    No.

Floyd said himself prior to the Hatton fight he feels his body is breaking down.

interesting video on why he retired.... it makes sense really...

he has accomplished a lot in the sport... after fighting for so long & at such a young age it might be hard for him to get up for fights that arent super fights

It doesnt SOLELY rely on it...but without those attributes, his boxing brain wouldn't be as effective.

He likes to beat people to the punch and get outta the way.

Hopkins is effective at this stage because he can use his punches economically by hitting and holding.

Floyd rarely employs such methods. He likes to use his speed, agility, and footwork to move around punches...as he gets older, he'll get tagged more and find it harder to adapt without these strengths

And like Hopkins, Floyd hasn't taken alot of punishment throughout his career, That's one thing that has helped Hopkins last this long.
