You ignore that Joe has already stated that he wanted a big fight in the US vs a big name.

You ignore that Joe stated he would fight Hopkins anywhere.

You ignore that Hopkins is the more established name (please dont argue this by mentioning attendance...Hopkins does FANTASTIC PPV numbers everytime...).

You ignore that Hopkins is one of the promoters.

You ignore that the fight in all probability will take place at LHW, making Hopkins the champ.

And Hopkins is suddenly wrong for asking the greater share of the purse...and asking the fight be WHERE JOE CALZAGHE ASKED IT TO BE AND ALREADY AGREED IT TO BE???

Get that bull**** outta here. Be ****in fair dude.

 

Why? I agree with B-Hop on this one.

Joe wants to move up and face the Light Heavy Weight Champ. That being B-Hop he should get the 60-40 split.

And this fight should be in america. If Joe wants to be one of the greatest he needs to show his face on this side of the atlantic.

 

:good No way would Calzaghe bring 300k buys to the table, Hopkins has done that multiple times. Without DLH and Tito.

 

Great post, Hopkins dont really need this fight to make him an ATG he already is no matter what happens, Calzaghe does need this match for his legacy. I would think 50/50 would probably be more fair, but if Calzaghe wants Hopkins that bad he will take the pay cut for once.

 

If Joe fights in Hopkins backyard he deserves 50/50 split.

Otherwise both fighters could get much more fighting in UK with 60,000 fans.

Not forgetting Joes now rated P4P no5 and undefeated with 21 title defences.

 

If its about where they will make the most money then just comparing the gross proceeds of their last fights should be a fairly accurate way to decide but the older man should get the greater % in this case but maybe only by a 10% factor.

Like some1 already said, BErnard is already an ATG, and doesnt need Calzaghe, on the otherhand Calzaghe wants to fight B-Hop for his legacy, so if he really wants him he will just have to take the smaller purse this time. I mean its probably not fair, but Hopkins is the champ at 175, and Joe would b the challenger, so the Champ would have a right to demand the bigger purse.

 

. . . well Bhops doesn't need JC in as much as JC needs Bhops . . . thus the demand.

But if that's the case . . . then JC should agree and beat up Bhops' ass right in his hometown.
