Not many boxers are known for it.

But Hopkins would be in the top 5, all time, most humble fighters. Just ask him.

Great fighters but I'm more on the side of men like Moore, Pep, Canzoneri, Fitz etc.. I wouldn't begrudge you if you had those in yours though, totally up to the individual. I won't get in to the ins & outs as to why .. we do it regularly in the classic .. but its a great discussion.

I remember when Joe Smith KO'd him out the ring and then he lied and pretended he twisted his ankle and couldn't walk, that's why he couldn't get back in to carry on.
Absolute scum, convicted felon, basically all the worst traits you can think of.
Horrible boxing style also. Nobody wants to watch it.
I'm sure they'll make a statue of him.

Convicted felon. Yea, he was young and stupid, and paid for it. At least he turned his life around and never did any of those things again.
I do think the man should be praised for turning his life around.

I would have him as number 1 if he had actually slapped Bill Haney

Hopkins isn't top 5 but he's underrated and being world champ near 50 is unprecedented

Usyk fanboys cry about his age everyday, buts a pup compared to Hopkins when he was still champ in a lighter weight category

Not top 5, but a throwback and he has earned the right to say what he wants. If Hopkins accomplished what he did 60 years ago. I bet many would put him much higher

He also had big fights with the cards stacked against him and travelled. Is that not a big plus on here?

Hopkins is top 100 but there's no argument for him being in the top five. Not even close.

This was quite an enjoyable thread to read whilst Adam Low T was banned.

Of course he came back and predictably starting mentioning Usyk when there was no reason to smh.

Roy Jones has a better argument for Top 5... oh, and he beat B-Hop.

Isn’t their record 1 - 1? And Hopkins holds clear wins over Tarver and Johnson, both of whom savagely knocked Roy out, as well as stopping a prime Felix Trinidad to become the undisputed middleweight champion. Whereas the best Roy could do was muster a decision over Trinidad, even though Felix had been retired for awhile and way above his best weight, while Jones was close to his prime weight.
