I thought Khan Maidana should have been a draw, the same way I thought the Bhop Pascal fight should have been a draw. It just goes to show that 12 round fights have changed boxing, and that nowadays early speed and skill will get you a win, and then you can coast the last few. Both of those fights would have been different over 15. Unfortunately all the evidence shows that the brain damage is done in the last 3. Experience and balls beats speed & skill over 15, but not 12.

I still think Khan is going to have his career ended by a punch. Pascal needs to get in better shape.

I think they should go back to 40 and 50 round fights. Every single boxer who has ever competed in a 15-round fight is a *****.

Stick 3 rounds onto the length of the fighter and nearly every boxer out there is going to reduce his output in the rest of the fight to compensate. For what gain?

I dont know about 15 rounds... I think that is pushing it. MancMexican makes a valid point... "every boxer out there is going to reduce his output in the rest of the fight". It would actually be more worthwhile to knock off a round to make it 11 instead of 12. Fighters would feel more urgency to pick up the pace and an odd number would reduce the chance of a draw.

If they don't die in the ring I want my nickel back!!!

I do agree that if fights were still 15 rounds that "Experience and balls beats speed & skill over 15" but 15 rounds would definitely break down some fighters much more earlier in their careers. It's good with 12 rounds, fighters get to keep their bodies and brains much longer which is good for us fans. It just means the fighter's gotta get it doen sooner if he wants the W. But I still find myself ringside sometimes screaming "I want my nickel back!"

its obvious you should stop watching boxing because you clearly have a hard time understanding how fights and the scoring processes work

heres a sport youll probably find more suitable

You guys are beautiful. Let's go back to 50 round fights like at the turn of the 1800's into the 1900's. Yeah, and let's also kill womens rights, labor rights, all unions. Oh and in Mississippi it was still legal in 1890 to hang a brotha for lookin at a white women. Oh and also let's not forget the fact that in parts of Florida they were killing white folks for teaching black folks how to read. Now maybe you understand the socio-economic mindset amongst the power structure that brought us to a 40 round fight. You think? or do you?

Don't blame that on being white. I'm a black male and I know all white people aren't so ignorant!

The problem that I saw with this fight, is the same ol story with Bernard. Bernard gets his ass kicked for the 1st 7 rounds and than starts to dominate the fighter for the last 5. Alla Jermain Taylor 1 & 2. Than Bernard starts to handle the guy a bit after he's been canvassed 3 or 4x's. I mean legitimently knocked down. I could of just as well had given the fight to Pascal and would have been quite unemotional about the decision. I thought Pascal won. But this is just bad karma for BHop any way because we all know he's been running from Bad Chad Dawson for 5 years now and this fight showed us nothing.

We are never going to get fifteen rounders back. That said, I do find it unfortunate how the twelve round era seems to have diminished the importance of superior conditioning, tilted the scales in favor of power punchers, and made ineffective activity something to aim for.

Hell, Manny seems to be putting most of his opponents halfway into their graves before the end of the ninth. I just hope we don't see it go from twelve to ten.
