One day out for both these fights and they have taken me by surprise. Old guys at this point, but hell I will never miss a boxing match if I can help it. Make your predictions and as always pls include your analysis and the rd of the stoppage if you predict a stoppage.
I'll start it off. On the RJj fight I am going with RJJ by decision. Green struggled badly with Mundine in his prime and Mundine is a fairly slick boxer. Even an old RJJ is pretty slick and still has power. I see green seeing the final bell but a decision by RJJ pretty clearly..8-4, 7-5 on the cards. For the Bhop fight I have to admit I dont know anything about ornelas. Just from browsing who he has fought he has had some close decision losses to some decent fighters but he doesnt have any signature wins. From judging the outcomes of his fight he looked to be an accumulation puncher, but this will be negated by bhops defense and good chin. I wouldnt be surprised to see Ornelas see the final bell and lose a clear but convincing decision to Bhop. 9-3 on this one as well. Bhop does drop some early rounds on inactivity.
I think Jones will win a fairly wide desicion and Hopkins will too, but I see Ornelas going the distance and even trouble him at times. B-Hop needs to stay more active than he has been and although this is rightly seen as a tune up fight it may be a lot closer than most meople expect. Of course then the whole of ESB will proclaim that Hopkins is shot and RJJ will knock him out. (sorry for double posts but this site is screwed up right now)
It's a real possibility that Jones will stop Green. Or were you referring to Ornelas going the distance?
I belive jones will outpoint green in a tough but wide unanimous decision and Hopkins will beat ornelas in a shut out.
I don't know enough about Ornelas to make any prediction there, though I would be very surprised if Hopkins lost. I hope Roy has enough left to make it through his fight, which I expect him to. Then the rematch that has come too ****ing late.
Looks like a few people favor green. Looks like no one has ornelas..maybe this is the fight Bhop comes in Old, it will happen eventually.
As I said, although I think Bernard will win, Ornelas may last the distance or make Hopkins look bad enough to prevent the Jones rematch. Hopkins is 44 and has been inactive for over a year. He can't go on forever, so maybe this is the fight that will show his age.
