I can hear the excuses now Bhop is 43 what did you expect? Bhop would have exposed Calzaghe in his prime. and the list goes on and on. Bottom line is Calzaghe deserves all the credit if he wins and even moreso if he wins in great fashion. It will be Calzaghe that makes Bhop look old and past it no one else.

Everyone said BHop was old and past it after Taylor.

Then Tarver happened and Tarver was now old and past it.

But then he beat Winky Wright and became young for his age.

I've been saying Hopkins is old and past his prime since before the Taylor and Eastman fights.

Calzaghe will dominate him and it should be considered a good win, although not like a win against a prime Hopkins.

How come its always the people who dislike or are picking against Bernard that bring up his age in a negative manner? Its never his fans or the ones picking him.

I have seen the same garbage post like this crop up on this site since he fought Joppy. And that was in 03.

Hows that worked out so far...

He's old and past it now. Is he shot? No, but he is old, and sadly that's the truth.

yo if a fighter gets in the ring and is willing to fight, no matter what the age he is then NO EXCUSES can be made....obviously B Hop feels he can beat joe@ 43 so for people to diminish Joes win IF he were to win then thats NONSENSE....that will be like fans from Europe saying

When has Hopkins ever been beat up and dominated by anybody? How is Calzaghe gonna do it. He doesn't have near the punching power or jones jr., taylor, tarver or probably even Wright and he was never dominated by any of them. Calzaghe throws a lot of punches but he is not a power puncher so I don't see how hes gonna dominated him or beat him down. Out work him maybe but that still remains to be seen. Hopkins is physical and at times fights dirty. He's got a big hard head and I'm worried about Joe getting head butted or cut

Anyone can see that Bhop has clearly slipped and I think it would be a valid excuse the man is 43 years old. Calzaghe should be the rightful favorite going into this fight.

I don't see why that would not be a valid excuse. He is 43 Yrs. old what do you expect from him? 43 is old anyway you look at it and if anyone beat Hopkins at this point is not saying a whole lot.

Favorite yes, but he has never fought someone as physical and as smart as Hopkins. Its gonna be his toughest test by far. Hopkins doesn't stand toe to toe. He moves side to side a lot and holds and puts his head down. I don't think he has the power to hurt Benard. He gonna have to win on points and throw a high volume of punches.

Winky Wright was just too small. He has no business above 154.

    Oh and PFF sucks.
