BHop won't do this, BHop won't do that - but how will Pavlik deal with the old fox?

It wouldnt surprise me if Bhop KO'd Pavlik early, Zuniga,Mckort and Taylor all put him down early, only question being if he did have him hurt would he go all out for it. He didnt go after Calzaghe but Joe wasnt hurt, so i dont know.

The weight issue is a non starter. Kelly has spent more than a third of his career fighting above the middleweight limit, and he is certainly tall enough to carry 170 quite well. He's done it before. All of Kelly's fights above 160 ended in quick knock outs, except for the 2nd Taylor fight: a fight in which KP injured both hands. All those higher weight opponents, except for JT, were tomato cans, but Pavlik carried the weight just fine, and no one gave him problems except Taylor, and he won that by a clear UD.

BHop is the bigger man, but I am not at all convinced he is the stronger man. If you've seen the film clips of Kelly's work outs, you know what he is capable of. It will not be easy for Bernard to rough him up on the inside. It seems like mentally Pav is fully prepared for that. He already said, "I've got elbows and a head too, and I don't mind roughin' a guy up." In addition, I've seen Kelly send guys backward with his forearms when they tried to clinch. However, Bernard is THE MASTER at this stuff, so we'll see.

The sneaky right hand is effective, as is counterpunching in general, IF your opponent is within range, and that is a BIG if. Kelly and Bernard are both listed at 75" of reach, but Hops is WAY bigger through the chest and shoulders. I think that translates into a pretty fair arm length advantage for Kelly. I expect to see Pav work hard at controling the distance, and I do not think Bernard's feet are fast enough to close the gap these days.

Kelly will most like take over in the middle rounds. The first 4 or 5 rounds will be competitive, and Bernard will have his moments. When Hopkins runs out of gas around the 6th or 7th, Pavlik becomes the man in charge. Somewhere between the 8th and the 10th Hops will get caught on the ropes. Pavlik will turn the ring into a ****ing phone booth and unleash hell.

Hopkins will probably have a few good rounds early before Pavlik beats the fight out of him. Though, the move-up in weight class could present a problem for Pavlik; Hopkins best bet to take advantage of this would be to mug Pavlik like he did Wright (and tried to do to Calzaghe) and just hope that the ref. doesn't disqualify him for excessive holding.

I think Pavlik is stronger than Winky was at 170. So it won't be as easy to do what he did to Winky.

My only question is can BHOP still take a hard punch at his age? I mean he is undoubtedly going to get hit hard, in the later rounds after he gets tired, will he be able to withstand it?

If B-Hop did get K.Oed in this fight as most people are predicting it would be a HUGE shock to me, all i gotta say is if Hopkins can take away Kellys jab, he wins...

What a crock of ****. Of course he is "knockoutable", Taylor had him on ***** street and to his credit he had the heart to get back in it and win, doesn't mean is invincible as he definitely isn't. A flash knockdown is one thing but you can't deny him being badly hurt.

Yes he was hurt, Taylor hit him with about 12-15 unanswered shots...not invincible at all but a pretty sturdy chin all things considered and fast recovery time as well.

B-Hop will counter-punch Pavlik to death, we'll see if Pavlik can take them.

Pavlik beat an inspired Taylor 2x--A better Taylor than B-Hop faced and I think this will be apparent in this fight--Now the question is can Bernard someone one great last performance....

I think Taylor especially the Taylor that fought in the 2nd fight would beat anyone at 168....And I hope he gets the chance to do so....

He's gotta be a lot busier than he was against Calzaghe.

Good questions asked in this thread. I'm taking Hopkins if the odds are good enough.
