Last nights fight with ***gi vs. Ngoudjo was another example of how corrupt boxing is in America. How can a fighter have the ring expanded by 3 feet days before the fight, get his ass kicked and then win by a unanimous decision with one of the judges scoring it a near shutout for the victor?

Hatton received the same treatment, a biased ref and the judges were there for backup just in case PBF didn’t school Hatton.

Sturm received the same against Oscar.

These are just three examples that come readily to mind and there are many many more.

How can any the so-called “fans” accept this? Home cooked decisions and advantages given by the refs will continue to push boxing into the realm of fringe sports.

Please don’t come back and say that boxing is back. What we have witnessed this last year was an anomaly caused by the combination of desperation on the part of the boxing establishment due to competition from MMA, the rise of an incredible fighter (PBF), competition for this fighter by last decades most popular fighter and Europe’s number two fighter with a massive fan base. In short, boxing pulled out all the stops to bring us big fights because it had to.

For some reason, the pinheads running the promotional organizations and the networks don’t seem to realize that they shed fans in droves when they push “future stars” as the next big thing and back it up with dishonest officials.

I just hope that the upcoming super fight between Calzaghe and Hopkins doesn’t have the same set of circumstances. If so, I will be sure to take my PPVs, ticket purchases and betting dollars off to other sports.

If it hasn't killed it in the past, it probably won't kill it now.

Joe Cortez is just a lousy ref and has been so for years. It was amusing how people finally had to see the Mayweather-Hatton fight to realize it. That wasn't as bad as some of his other recent performances.

The examples you gave were kind of minor to be honest. It has nothing on fights like Escalera-Everett, Lewis-Holyfield I and Nelson-Fenech I in the USA, Coggi-Gonzalez I in Argentina, or Brewster-Krasniqi in Germany.

Your examples are right on the mark. These types of issues have really hurt boxing in the past and will continue to which really is concerning.

I don't know how old you are but I remember when I was a kid that everybody wanted to be the next big fighter and only baseball was bigger. Since then, boxing isn't even followed by most sports fans. Every so often a freak like Tyson comes along and people watch him just to see what he will do or say but not for the sport.

Our sport is at the cross roads.

Quit whining. Ngoudjo wasn't landing **** for most of this fight. He was getting tagged with jabs, uppercuts, and left hooks all night. It was a close fight, but Paulie pulled it out, 115-113.

As far as the Mayweather/Hatton fight, pretty much every writer and ringside observer(including British writers) gave Hatton no more than two rounds. Cortez didn't have a great night, but the only round where breaking **** up when he didn't need to was round 2. In the other rounds, he was breaking it up when no one was punching or when somneone was in a headlock.
