At heavyweight skills don’t matter as much, Pulev is more fundamentally sound but he can only fight on the outside, the moment Miller gets inside he is gunna break Pulev down. Pulev is a poor man’s Wlad and doesn’t have the size or the strength to pull off the jab jab grab tactic Wlad is famous for.

I would rather take 30% against the champ than 25% in a final eliminator. Either that or i would just go for the WBO belt which gives me a higher split

Well Whyte was he was ranked 4th in the IBF rankings then in their last rankings was dropped completely out of their rankings, he's not even in the top 15 on their latest rankings. I guess they'll dump Miller out of their rankings next month too and you know what I doubt either of them will really care as they are highly ranked by other organisations.

Maybe Hughie will take it and become the International Bulgarian Federation mandatory if he wins lol.

Lol, you lost me at Chisora fights exactly like Miller. Ones a 6'1 245 slugger, and the other is a 6-4 300 pressure fighting volume puncher who is the fittest guy in the division, youll have to expain that to me one day.

Chisora, Dimintrenko and Ustinov are at the same level as Washington, Wach and Duhuapas. Give credit where credit is due, Pulev beat Thompson, but like I said, stlyes make fights, and Miller is a different beast altogether.

Based on what? The fact that he dominated, broke the spirit and grinded everyone of those guys into the ground, including stopping Wach, a guy who made it 12 rounds with both Povetkin and Klitschko. No way can Pulev keep Miller off him, just doesnt have the style or capabilities. He doesnt have to be fast when he can throw 60-70 punches a round, even when he doesnt land it still feels like tree trunks banging against and weighing opponents body down, and very few guys if any can keep up with the pace he sets, hence needing the legs, power or volume. Pulev isnt powerful enough and doesnt have the stamina or legs to keep Miller at bay, thus he goes into his shell after the first round after realising his jab wont cut it, like the rest.

If Pulev doesnt need Bulgarian protection, hell take the fight somewhere else.

I wouldn't call Chisora a slugger he lacks the power for that. He's in reality a pressure fighter like Miller, his boxing hero was Frazier and you can see some of that in how he fights. Problem Chisora has he's usually so out of shape he can't actually pressure for more than a minute at a time which kind of hampers him lol.

But having said that Miller is a stiffer test than Chisora in some ways and this is from someone who doesn't rate Miller in the slightest. Pulev clinched Chisora to death, was able to beat him to the punch then smother him with a jab and grab style. Much harder to do that vs a man as big as Miller, clinching a 300lbs man will take it's toll on you.

Pulev also isn't as good as he was when he fought Chisora over 2 years ago. He's declined noticeably since then and has been inactive for over a year. Personally I think Pulev is ready to be taken, he might know it too hence why he's gone out of his way to stack this eliminator in his favour.

Love watching Chisora, always comes to fight, but if Chisora is a pressure fighter, he's a poor one. Whenever he comes up against a good out boxer, Fury, Haye, Klitschko, Pulev, even Kabayel, he struggles badly to get on the inside, where a good pressure fighter wouldn't. His only hope is to draw his opponent in on emotion into a dogfight, ala Whyte. From this perspective, I see Chisora more as a slugger than a pressure fighter. No shame in that, hes a bloody good and entertaining one, just nowhere near the league of a Povetkin or a 300 pound volume punching pressure fighter like Miller. Cant stress enough that 300 pounds. The idea that Pulev can jab, clinch and hold up a 300 pound Miller on his way to victory is laughable, anyone who thinks they can clinch against Miller is in for an early night, they'll have no legs by the second round.

Pulev is at the end of his career. 2 fights in over 2 years against payday guys at his age in Bulgaria, and not wanting to leave Bulgaria, like you said, he's ready for the taking, needs all the help he can get.

Lol you lost me when you said Miller was the fittest guy in the division. Also lol at using the fact that Miller "stopped." Wach faster than Povetkin and unlike Klitschko as an argument(really grasping at straws) Klitschko beat
a Wach who was 17 lbs lighter FIVE years prior - Povetkin a Wach who was 13 lbs lighter THREE years prior. Both beat a superior version pillar to post(no worse if no better) than Miller did.. You neglected to mention that Wach suffered a badly broken hand a few rounds prior and that played a huge round in the mercy stoppage(his chin would have held up another 3 rounds) in reality Wach has never been stopped outright.

Pulev doesn't need to throw 60-70 punches a round against Miller. and he's easily faster and more mobile than the 300 lb fleshy Miller. At the very least he could jab 1-2 the fatter and slower fighters head off for a couple of rounds and despite "no power." Miller would feel those shots..... Pulev has fought internationally unlike Miller who's had every single one of his fights in the states with the vast majority being in the NY area. Again if Miller is as bad of a matchup as you say then he shouldn't have any problem going to Bulgaria and facing Pulev.

Miller would struggle with those guys as well. So by your standards he would be a "slugger." and not a pressure fighter. I had no idea the two were mutually exclusive....

I've never gotten the idea that Pulev is a good mover. He bounces up and down on his feet but in reality his movement has always sucked and it's even worse now that he's older and past his best. Just watch the Chisora and Arias fights, he can't get out of the way so is forced to clinch all the time.

Miller isn't that mobile at 300lbs but he doesn't need to be he just needs to keep plodding forward to get to Pulev as Pulev is so immobile himself and only moves back in straight lines anyway, so will just get backed up to the ropes and wailed on.

I don't think he's a "great." mover per-se but he's got enough to stay on the outside against bigger stiff fighters and get to work. Arias and Chisora both fought incredibly negative fights and often times bull rushed their way in without throwing punches just looking to crowd Pulev on the inside(who clinched in return) the Arias fight in particular was terrible but it was a return fight against a cagey journeyman after a bad loss to Klitschko. Those guys are smaller, faster and more likely to be able push their way inside than the slow and sluggish 6'4 300 lb+ Miller. Pulev was able to keep bigger guys like Dimitrenko, Ustinov and Walker outside for the most part and have success with his jab. I think there would be a lot of clinching in this one but Miller wouldn't find it nearly as easy to get inside as Chisora(a much smaller and quicker fighter) did.

Pulev would probably get pushed on to the ropes at times but he would be able to defend himself better than Washington did(getting out via clinching or circling off) he would also have the success that Washington did boxing but only more consistently. I don't think it would be as easy for Miller as pushing Pulev back against the ropes and "wailing on him." he has a stiff jab(one of the best in the division) to worry about and will be outboxed whenever at long range and forced to clinch while on the inside.

People always bring up the Dimitrenko fight as an example of Pulev's ability to control range. Is Dimitrenko some shorter inside fighter now? Dimitrenko is tall and usually fights tall, he fights at a range which suits Pulev, sure he pressed more than he liked vs Pulev but that was because he was getting out boxed at a distance.

Being able to keep the fight long against an opponent like Dimitrenko or Ustinov who like to fight long isn't proof that Pulev can move well or control range well against guys that come forward like Chisora and Miller. How do people not get this?

As you are a Fury fan do you think his fight when Johnson who fights at range behind a jab proved Tyson Fury is a good mover or does his fight with Chisora where he controlled him with his jab at range prove that? I say the latter.

TL/DR version I just think Pulev at or near his best is a good level or two better than Miller and outboxes him to a clear points win in an ugly fight. He's just a less athletic Wlad without power but that's still enough to beat most fighters in the **** HW division(Miller included)

I don't rate Miller too highly myself but then I never rated Pulev that highly either but I think at his best he was a better fighter than Miller by some margin, but from a style perspective I don't think Pulev ever has an easy time with Miller.

I don't see the comparison with Wlad, even as a less athletic one. Wlad had so many more strings to his bow than someone like Pulev. Wlad was bigger for a start, considerably faster, moved better, could clinch more effectively, his head movement was better, he had that compact left hook when needed and was technically superior to Pulev in many ways.

    Fair enough.

Just the Jab 1-2 and clinching aspect. They're very different but he clearly tries to base himself off of Steward's Klitschko.

I hope that fight comes off, you will see Pulev got exposed by Wlad, he ain’t been the same since. Miller will break him down and stop him.

I agree in this regard, he's a jab and grab fighter for a reason. He has a good jab but poor movement meaning he's forced to jab then smother the counter as he can't get out of the way vs an aggressive fighter.

If I was to compare him to anyone it would be John Ruiz rather than Wlad.
