Foreman did and, at an older age than Zhang, with somewhere around the equivalent body mass (adjusted for Foreman being a couple inches shorter), didn't have these stamina issues. It's absolutely something for Zhang to work on. And you want to talk about big guys and stamina... how about the NFL? You can end up with multiple plays back-to-back that are on the longer side, and you don't see those dudes huffing and puffing. (the stats on the NFL big guys are incredibly impressive, to show the limits of what humans can really pull off when provided with the best of everything in their training and nutrition)
Ruiz is fast and explosive but he doesn't have heavy hands at all. He landed every punch in the book on an old Arreola and couldn't even wobble him.
Zhang is 280 pounds of marbled Chinese Wagyu, there's a good amount of fat, but also muscle. He has amateur pedigree and he is a puncher.
which is very sad. when you have some one like joshua who comes in to the ring in shape, he is called a "body builder". yet these same people worship at the feet at the feet of fury who always looks flabby! remember when the heavy weight champions were muscular? ali? foreman (first career), frazier, louis, weaver, etc....? all of these people would call them "body builders.
And that exact same thing bit Hrgovic in the ass last weekend. Maybe if he dropped the 20lbs or so extra he's carrying, his stamina would improve. And Fury? He was looking great mid-fight against Usyk until he tired a bit and got ragdolled. Don't get me wrong, he deserves credit as being the fat HW with the best conditioning by a mile, but might his conditioning be BETTER if he was at the 245lbs or so he was when he faced Wlad? You'd think so. I've complained about this "imma just be fat" attitude of modern HW's forever. It doesn't help. How someone willing to train hard enough to be at the top level of a pro sport unwilling to follow a nutrition program? I don't get it. Like Fury -- given how much better his stamina is than the average overweight HW, dude is clearly busting all kinds of ass at cardio. That takes a ton of discipline. Why can't that discipline extend to "lose 20lbs and strictly follow the diet laid out by a nutrition coach"?
Did he have this kind of power before he went pro don't know much about him in the amateurs I see his fight with AJ and he never seemed to hurt AJ at all despite landing what looked like solid shots AJ had him down and on bandy legs too
How Hrgovic wasn't knocked out is a mystery. For the first six rounds, Big Bang landed plenty of clean punches on him but he was never even close to being slept.
