Ken Norton was called "Black Hercules" for a reason This content is protected Mike Tyson of course was absolutely jacked, Holyfield legitimately trained like a bodybuilder in several ways.
Yeah this idea that coming in at suboptimal shape is somehow acceptable or even a good thing is ludicrous, but I guess that's just how society is moving with body positivity becoming fat acceptance. I remember having debates on here about Fury and Arreola's stamina and there's fans were saying how they could fight 12 rounds comfortably and that their stamina was fine. But we saw in the 2nd Arreola fight with Stiverne and then Fury with Usyk, it's one thing to fight 12 rounds when you are controlling the pace, a completely different story when you are having to fight at someone else's pace and are being kept in that lactate threshold zone for round after round. That's when the complacency comes back to bite these fighters in the arse.
With Fury I think he has some deeper issues in regards to his relationship with food and drink which is why he can't sustain weight loss for any extended periods of time. He always falls back to drink and food to deal with either his mental health or perhaps other emotional issues. Whatever mental or emotional trauma he has manifests itself in this reliance on food and drink. Which is a shame, he clearly puts in the work to have been able to lose as much weight as he has before but he undoes a lot of that hard work because of the root cause of whatever drives his damaging relationship with food and drink.
I think it’s the fast twitch fibres. He is a unit but his hands are rapid, especially the back hand. He is also pretty old as well. I think vs Parker he fell in love with his power a bit too much and gassed out, fight was his to win with the KDs
