Just say it! Langford lost to a fighter that looks really bad on film. He also beat many great fighters. I don't think it makes much difference in the great scheme of things.
Fake fights. Tate was better than he looks here tanking it against Norfolk. And Langford might well have staged his loss to Tate. Those guys probably had as many fake fights as they did real ones.
What is the evidence that Tate threw the fight to Norfolk? I have tons of accounts of this fight as it was on the undercard of Dempsey-Brennan and none that I have suggest it wasnt on the level. Tate was never ranked very highly as even a fringe contender, Norfolk was ranked very highly at times for both the HW and LHW championship (especially at this time).
