Iron Mike Tyson seemed unbeatable at one time during his career as he had those fast vicious punches which often left his opponent on the canvas as if they had been hit by a train! Cleveland Williams is also known for his awesome power as well and had 58 knockouts in his career with probably the most impressive being a 7th round KO of Ernie Terrell. He was all standing about 6'3" and had an 80" reach too. Tyson had decision wins against Tucker and Bonecrusher Smith and was also severely tested against Razor Ruddock too and I don't believe any of these guys were in the same league as a prime Big Cat Williams who was not only powerful but a fast and agile boxer too so this is how I see this fight going:

    The fight

Tyson comes out strong against Williams looking to end matters early but is caught with some good shots as Williams also came to fight and is not scared of the intimidating Tyson. In the early rounds both men would trade evenly but Tyson is getting tagged with the cleaner shots as the fight goes into the latter rounds. After a hard exchange in round 11, Williams lands a bone crunching left right combo sending Tyson down to the canvas. Tyson makes it to his feet but is in no shape to continue as the referee halts the contest.

    Winner Williams TKO11

LOL. Williams never beat a fighter even a level below Tyson much less an elite HW. Tyson would have stopped Williams inside of three rounds just like Liston did.

You love to trot out the Terrell stoppage but always neglect to mention that it was Terrells first big fight and it didnt help that it was held in Williams' backyard.

I think Big Cat would be a very tough fight for Tyson at the stage in his career when he fought Quick Tillis and Mitch Green but it wouldn't make sense to match Tyson at that time in his career vs a Prime Big Cat, then if you fast forward through his prime Big Cat again I think would give Tyson a good fight and perhaps beat him in the late 90's and early 2000's. But at his peak when he was champ I think Tyson's to much for Williams though I think Williams would make a fight of it for a few rounds. Clevland Williams is the kinda guy who can give any fighter coming forward to him a real tough fight.

Big Cat is overrated. A can crusher for his day. Tyson disposes of him quickly. Cat could try and survive like bonecrusher did but I don't even think he does that well.

Heizenberg makes sense. fighters like Williams could survive like Bonehugger IF they hugged all night, but Williams would be too proud to.

And how do you know Bonehugger wouldn't have survived if he hadn't have hugged all night? He had the wrong attitude big time, you're fighting for the heavyweight title for ****s sake, give it your all!

I would say that Tucker was better than a peak Williams.

Lol this isn't the comedy forum. . Tucker had a broken ****ing hand when he fought Tyson. You're telling me the 29 year old past prime (clearly), broken handed, tucker was better than a peak Williams? I will have to respectfully strongly disagree with that notion.

Tucker was better than a peak Williams. Who did Williams ever best? Ernie Terrrell - which was avenged. He has no other quality win in nearly 80 of them. Every time he stepped up he was stopped. Satterfield, Liston 2x, Ali, Foster 2x.

Tucker has a soft resume as well but at least he has good versions of Douglas and McCall on his ledger and he went the distance with Tyson and Lewis to great punchers.

I don't want to hate on Williams but he is vastly overrated by far too many people.

Tucker was NOT better than a peak Williams. Williams drew with Machen. And in those losses you mentioned, you forgot to say he was green for Satterfield. He was also past prime with a bullet in him, when he fought Ali and Foster. You seem to conveniently have left this out as well.
Williams was shot with a .357 Magnum in the abdomen, barely survived, and suffered permanent kidney damage, a loss of over ten feet of his small intestine, and nerve damage from the bullet which affected his left leg above the knee, causing it to atrophy as a result.
Williams is not overrated. He is underrated. He was one of the best fighters, if not the best, to never become champion.

Just to play devils advocate, what do we actually know about Tucker's hand injury?

There is always some sort of excuse after a fighter loses.

Bert Sugar reported on "Ringside Remembers" that Tucker broke his hand in the 4th round. Tucker later admitted he injured the hand in training prior to the bout and badly re-injured it during the fight. Some thought he should delay the fight, but Tucker felt he would have been blackballed if he pulled out, considering Spinks had done so a few months prior.

Ok he was shot both figuratively and literally later on he still has no important wins of consequence outside of Terrell. His second best performance you could name was a draw. That's not enough. Tucker defeated two men that went on to beat Mike Tyson and Lennox Lewis. And Tucker lasted the distance with both of them.

Two overrated fighters because of lack of competition but I will still stay with Tucker as the better of the two.
