Eubank Sr on Mayweather Jr: Sign of things to come!?

    Sunday, June 17, 2012

    By Keith Lambert
Chris Eubank Sr, perhaps the toughest fighter of the 1980s and 90s, has questioned Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather Jr’s toughness after hearing his complaints of below-par living conditions in serving his jail-time for breaking the [url]

‘I slept on a bit of foam on the floor when I lived in South Bronx for five years and ate rotten bananas for dinner. I was sleeping rough on the streets of London at 14 (years old). Look to Mr (Nelson) Mandela, he endured 28 years of it and still was willing to endure more. It makes you question if Floyd Jr can claim greatness once he is finally taken to the trenches in a [url]

Another fighter big Chris has been disappointed with in recent times is fellow British super-middleweight Carl Froch. Of Froch’s arrogant boasting, he says: ‘Carl is only tarnishing his own legacy by trying to write his own history, which is a real shame. He does the work in the ring – as well as the road and [url]

‘I’m content with my own ring work and how I will be looked upon 100 years from now. Carl obviously isn’t content with his ring work or he wouldn’t feel the need to attempt writing his history.’
And what of Eubank’s recent hinting of a dramatic ring return himself, isn’t that contradicting the above statement?
‘No,’ he says. ‘Because I’m not claiming I will be world [url]

His view on Mayweather is completely spot on.

Nelson Mandela did a REAL sentence! Lindsay ****ing LOHAN did more time than Floyd did without moaning about it, as did Paris Hilton for **** sake.

I really do despise Floyd as a person.

    He's right about Froch.

With his CV and drive he doesn't need to open his gob.

Why are you speaking in the past tense?

Eubank can never get credit to someone, especially if they are seen in a historical context as 'rivals'

As for the comeback, the fact he is talking about it shows hes been jabbed in the head one too many times.

Hmmmm, Eubanks cocky attitude was all part of his persona to market himself and sell his fights. He is a smart guy who made himself the bad guy that everyone wanted to see get beaten and probably added more backsides to seats and viewers to the viewing figures.

Would Nigel Benn of been as famous without him??

Would Calzaghe of been seen in the same light as he is if he had not of beaten him?

Maybe Froch is trying to pull of the same thing? Probably not though. I love to watch Ffroch fight, he is by far my favourite boxer and I live in the same area as him so he is a local boy done well, but I do cringe at some of his statements.

But I feel he will have the legacy he craves in years to come and if he can beat kessler and then get Ward back into the ring and put up a barnstorming performance, maybe he could be a future h o f?
