Kudos to Browne, great fight and he showed heart to come back and win the fight. Would like to see him in against Wilder/Fury/Ortiz/Joshua/Povetkin now. He'd cause problems, he could beat Wilder - but probably not Fury/Ortiz,Joshua - him vs Povetkin would be a nice fight, can't decide who would win.
Browe did so well to turn things around especially after getting dropped so heavily. He also deserves praise for getting himself in the best shape of his life and making some improvements. He deserved that win, he was the guy that wanted it more and had put in the work to get the result. I'd love to see him in an Aussie/Kiwi clash with Parker.
Let's let one thing straight, what won it for Browne apart from his WILL and belief was his underrated boxing skills, he jabbed well, moved well and used his feet. He added new layers to his game and showed heart which is what all heavyweights need to come back. An interesting fight would be Browne VS Breazeale - both are big men and have underrated skills and good heart. That would be a back and forth war, I'd just about favour Breazeale as I rate Mansour as a very hard fight for any heavyweight and to bully him after being KO'd takes some doing. But then again stopping Chagaev...
The heart he showed was amazing, he was stunned big time. And he had to survive a long round, he went on the backfoot boxed well and then caught chagheav with a peach of a punch!! he finished it very well with a barrage of massive hooks, that the white tyson had nothing for.
I'm very happy for Lucas Browne. Great win in a very exciting fight. I love the heavyweights. Especially when the fights end by KOs. No need to involve the judges. And Browne could have a fairly interesting reign. When the WBA created its mini-tournament, the lineup really favored the Chagaev-Browne winner. Luis Ortiz has to fight Ustinov next, and Fury and Klitschko must rematch, and then the winners of those two fights have to meet in the semifinal. Meanwhile, all Browne has to do is fight Fres Oquendo ... who was promised the winner. Oquendo shouldn't be a problem at all, and Browne could fight him at home. So, while the winner of Ortiz-Ustinov and Fury-Klitschko II meet ... Browne will have an open date to fight really whomever he likes. I'd love to see Browne and Joseph Parker square off. I think that would be a huge fight down under. Or Browne could just wait for the final WBA bout and get a shot at the lineal champ. Either way, Browne is going to have a nice year ahead of him and he'll make some good money.
