Should be Joshua’s next opponent. Big Daddy Makh would put him to sleep for 30+ mins. Also no one else wants a piece of the Lion.
Lol! Definitely would be fun to watch. I actually think Gassiev puts Joshua to sleep in a more brutal fashion though.
Makhmudov has the frame and size to take over. I like Gassiev i think hed leave chisora, whyte, parker and sanchez in a heap. But for pure destruction its Big Daddy Makhudov. The Lion woukd take out the big boys.
Makhmudov definitely ready for something bigger, but can't see this getting made anytime soon. Lion is a problem nobody seems to need but the age he is, he should definitely be looking at something bigger. Would love to see him fed Parker, that would do for a kick off. I'm just not sure that he's got the proper backing to get these big fights with that big punch...be another year on Skid Row I fear.
Doesn't have the skills of Iron Gassiev. Look what happened to Makhumudov's power when he faced Tatakm, a guy who can box just a little.
The thing about Murat is he has that ‘sneaky power’ He times his shots really well and does NOT telegraph them much at all. On top of that, the guy has brute strength AND technique. Very dangerous puncher.
Yeah, he is very precise, and the power is sneaky because he hits with either hand. Hook to the body, hook to the head, left uppercut, overhand right, straight right...they all have power in them!
Gassiev is only 29 I have hope he'll eventually get chances And Makhmudov is ranked number 4 with the WBC
It certainly seems that way. The EE fighters just don't seem to get the fights they need to progress. Mak is ready for anyone at this point but I never hear him being called out by anyone....
Exactly, no one is going to be doing much until Fury and Wilder see out the decade fighting each other (and perhaps Ortiz and Chisora a few more times) and dancing around Andy Ruiz who plans to possibly fight again in 18 months as long as the money is right. Those 5 should be fighting these emerging HWs and Joyce rather than each other. Fury / Usyk, Fury / Joshua, Wilder / Joshua ... these aren't even coming together. With the exception of Usyk, I'm looking forward to when HW moves on from this old guard.
