It's good to see him in shape if he's going to keep fighting, but I don't understand why he went into the Whyte fight so out of shape. Like others have pointed out , he's had a successful career considering his lack of skill and speed, but he's older now and probably off the steroids. He needs to fight some easy tune-up fights, and then try to get a fight with Parker or one of the regional prospects. I wouldn't be surprised if he gets upset in his comeback though.

It appears Browne is trying to make Light heavyweight to call out Mundine or Hatton. Both Flatten Browne at this point

It's frustrating. It's the same thing that happened with Mike Perez, fought a bunch of his biggest fights a slobby mess but somehow has the determination to get down to cruiserweight long after he becomes relevant on the scene.

I know Browne had some issues with depression prior to the Whyte fight, but if that's the case why didn't he postpone the fight, and more oddly, how has he found the mental fortitude to lose the weight following a brutal KO loss?

Anyway, I can't begrudge a man for turning his life around, whatever the reason, so I wish Browne well. But he's a man at the very bottom of the heap of top HWs at the moment, and he's not getting any younger. I don't see where he goes from here.

I wasn't thinking of this being an eliminator matchup w/ Pulev. Just a "stay busy" fight for Pulev where Sauerland can pack the Inselparkhalle with fans and market as a matchup with "former WBA titleholder Lucas Browne". Sauerland is pretty good at that sort of thing.

lmao he had the biggest fight of his career and showed up in horrible shape and now fighting a random can he trains is ass off and losing weight .....this is awkward.

he probbably would have lasted 12 rounds in solid shape vs a featherfist like Whyte

His only realistic way of getting back in the mix is if he can be brought in as a gatekeeper type opponent for some young prospect, and causing an upset.

Price-Browne or Browne-Allen early 2019 would be nice.

I'm glad Browne is looking in Great shape he looked like the Australian Homer Simpson vs Whyte (ripped pants & all)

Doubt Pulev would do that. He hasn't fought for over 14 months for a reason, he's sitting on his ranking, will only fight an eliminator which if he wins will likely sit on his mandatory position until he gets a title shot. He's past his best and is not going to risk losing a possible mandatory by making a voluntary even against someone like Browne.

He’s only lost 6lb since the Whyte fight, not great IMHO. Posted his weight today on instagram, 258lb. He was 264lb against weight.

    Pictures can be VERY deceiving.

Hard to tell with that shirt really.

Now would be a good time for him to go on gear though. Nothing left for him to lose.

I don’t know. People focused so much on his conditioning for the Whyte fight, but I might actually disagree with that. I think he’s just always been a bad boxer.

He seems like a good guy, so I’m sorry to say that, but I think he just sucks. Regardless of his conditioning.

Maybe he can accomplish something with a rigorous PED routine though.

How it is possible that Browne started boxing at 31 if he had his pro debut at 29?
