Still got a lot to learn but I like watching him fight ... Probably because he seems like a really nice bloke too.
Was a good KO win by Lucas Browne tonight didnt expect it to go down that way or that soon. Colin Wilson must retire ASAP, & i think its time he is not relicensed. Wilson has nothing to else to proove, & i think his health is most important now.
You should nominate for the ANBF presidency Kegsy. You seem to know everything about boxing. Colin should retire if he wants to, what right do you have to tell him otherwise??? You are nothing but a computer Warrior who has never pulled on the gloves in your life.
its called an opinion buddy, kegs was just putting forth his, no need to get on the front foot its not as though he was having a go at col
Reading this forum, he seems to have a go at everyone. Nothing worse than a coward who hides behind a computer desk, dosnt attend fights to support the sport. Yet gives his opinion like its the gospel.
Have to agree Kegsy. The writing was on the wall from early in the first round. Browne looked like he could have ended it at any time. Lucas looked in great shape. He's going to trouble plenty of heavies as he progresses. He spoke well in the post fight interview, very impressed. Wilson has been a real warrior and a gentleman. Must surely be time to hang them up now.
Colin Wilson has had over 65 professional bouts. Has been a terrific servant for Aussie domestic Heavyweight boxing over so many years. I feel he shouldnt be relicensed for the sake of his health at pretty much 40 yrs old, he has nothing left to proove in boxing. Wilson has been an absolute warrior at domestic level & ducked no one put in front of him, but yet you say he should fight on if he wants to? Its a brutal physical sport...we dont need any more deaths in this day & age.
I used the exact same reasoning in another thread about a year back about Bob Mirovic. Both guys should hold their heads high as Aussie warriors who ducked no one, but we dont need them both in the ring anymore...not in their 40's & getting KO'd.
Agree 100% boxers welfare is first and foremost :thumbsup Col has been a great servant to Aussie boxing scene, hopefully he does the right thing now and hang them gloves up!!
Aye, thought the same. Wasnt sure what type of person he was when I saw him walk to the ring, but his post-fight comments, his honesty and his humble and respectful words gave a a vast contrast too his physical appearance. Came across as an absolute gentleman.
Are you Wilsons trainer, manager, boyfreind, mother or cousin? I recall making a post a few yrs ago when a certian boxer got his ass handed to him by otis grant whom had returned to boxing after being in a car accident. I wrote that this certian boxer should retire, it wasnt pretty watching him get his ass handed to him every single round and i personally didnt feel he had ANYTHING more to offer the sport, for his own health and saftey he should retire.. well i got a nasty phone call that night from said boxer, spoke to me like some gangsta thug fckwit and ive never respected him since. I bet you were one of the fans who supported Paul Briggs fighting Danny Green hey buddie? there is a time to call it a day , when one countines on, one risks greater injury, long term damage and also tarnished the sport of boxing. When a roast is cooked & done do you still leave it in the Oven to contuine cooking? :hey
