Better than the run of the mill brief main card breakdowns or whatever, this piece by Chris Cork looks in depth at the headline bout between Melvin Guillard and Evan Dunham.

It's the first installment of a regular feature, so let us know what you think guys and gals.

Good fight, think Dunham has it. Guillard is a decent wrestler and a very explosive striker thats well documented fast hands, heavy hands, quick feet and vicious body shots. Dennis Siver has done quite well recently and Guillard totally destroyed him a few years ago. Dunham however is so much more well rounded and has actually done very well vs the quality oppostion. Very good striking, very good wrestling and a hell of a ground and his cardio is insane he actually made Sean Sherk tired which is very impressive. I think Dunham gets this fight to the ground and finishes it with a RNC. Guillard is improved under Jackson but I still think he is now what hes always been just alittle better and thats an explosive striker with an average ground game and it will be exploited.

Dunham's better than this. This should be Sherk in his place.

This is a smashing fight , i really like the contrast of style's here

Ive got Dunham via a split decision , Guillard is a little more seasoned now , his TD defence is a lot better and he doesnt load up anymore , that said when the chips are down old habits come back , and Guillard will be at several points in this fight " up against the wall " literally .

I think Guillard will take the first round while he's fresh , good movement with in out striking and will avoid the onslought of Dunham's wrestling/JJ , i think Dunham will make the neccesary adjustments and apply his game to Guillard and have in a lot of trouble in 2 and 3 .

The reason i opted for a split decision and not UD is , i beleive while Guillard stays active and doesnt gas , he's a match for Dunham and will provide him problems , he's a better striker than Dunham and if he can avoid being taken down , then the theory is he should have an edge in this fight . For as long as that may last .
