Hopefully Buncey can shed some light on this. But if Sky don't own Hattons tv rights which i believe they dont and they just sell them to sky fight by fight then surely Setanta automatically get this upcoming fight. Or is there more to this than meets the eye?

it says cbs is affliated to showtime and might give showtime the backing to bid.

showtime is the same as sky, you have to pay to view.

as to arum and setanta ? i hope so, sky are greedy ****ers .

Read somewhere that setanta's deal with top rank excludes certain fights (which is bound to be hatton pac) where they have to bid for them seperately

i think hbo sting a bit.
most of the best boxers are european nowadays so setanta need to push for these rights.
    hw-wlad
    cw- adamek
    lhw-calzaghe
    smw- kessler
    mw-abraham
the best fighters of each of these top weight divisions are european so why are america cashing in?we need to start cutting them out and having the bouts on at a reasonable hour for europeans to watch.

saturday kid is right when you think on it.

i would imagine arum`s deal does not include any british fighter.

Makes sense that the Arum/Setanta deal would exclude any British fighter as their UK TV rights are potentially worth more to them.

Otherwise, if Arum wanted to make a fight like this one, he would probably have to compensate Hatton to a greater degree for the loss of his tv rights than the Setanta contract is probably worth to him.

Yeah it would be cool if Setanta had the big fights too, but I suppose we gotta be grateful that we get most of them on Setanta and only have to pay for a few ppv's a year, whereas the yanks have to shell out $39.99 per fight!!! Poor *******s.

IMO, that's exactly right. I used to have NO problem watching a big fight at 4 PM over here, then when HBO/Sho wanted to, they re-show at US prime time.

It's ****ed up to expect you guys to wait until 4-5 am to watch something. Id be pissed off too.:yep
