I can honestly say that this is nothing new and that the fight will go on ... I remember hearing about negotiations over gloves ruin fights or hold back it from being official. I can't blame Pacquiao ... The people to blame are Bob Arum and Floyd Mayweather. They are letting this beef go to far ... I can say that for Mayweather he's just playing his position. He has to get something in his favor, he has more to lose. It's pretty much even and to get some kind of an upper hand you have to negotiate something bizzare. Ring size, gloves (brand), tickets, gate, glove size, and so on. The crazy thing about Arum is that I have yet to see him budge. If this fight doesn't happen at all we can all put a majority of the blame on Bob Arum. This isn't the first time ... JuanMa vs Caballero Pavlik vs Williams Mayweather vs Cotto (should've happened)
I'm one of the few who think that Pac vs PBF would be better off happening in the fall. Except another thing is I really hoped that Pac would defend his lineal title vs Bradley in March. Clottey is a tough fight but Bradley is on a hot streak and I like the kid.
I get what you're saying ... but why the fall, that leaves so much room for error ... and I wouldn't want it to be like Mayweather vs Judah situation ... where alot of the energy from the fight was taken away when Judah lost to Baldomir. I would like to see Pac vs Floyd in a super unification bout (considering Floyd fights and beats Mosley/Berto winner) ... yet a part of me wants to see him fight in the 140lb division and dominate.
Pacquiao isn't ready for Mayweather in March, I think Freddie has already expressed this. Chief sparring partner would be an entirely too offensive Khan and he wouldn't want to lose before elections....I always thought March was too early for promotions anyways....just wish they hadn't teased us to death
well if thats the case then it was something both parties agreed upon. Its possible but highly doubtful and also very hard to keep a secret.
Nah, Pac will lose to Clottey or be headbutted and out with a severe cut. Either way, he doesn't want to Floyd. That much is certain.
I'm guessing you meant fight floyd, either way, why on earth would Manny be scared of him? Mayweather hasn't intimidated any fighter before.
Thats the way I see it. I honestly think this is just Arum vs. Mayweather at this stage. Pacquiao left it up to Arum to negotiate and I think he'd have fought regardless of what Arum did for him. I think Mayweather is unwilling to give in to Arum's negotiations. Both are being absolute petty ****s.
Dec 2nd "March 13 is too fast a turnaround," said Roach. "Manny has a broken eardrum" suffered in his Nov. 14 TKO victory over welterweight Miguel Cotto in Las Vegas. "I'd like to have more time. I hope the fight happens, yes, but I want us to be in the best possible shape." ---------- If they turned down the Yuri Foreman fight because he was "too tall" (same size as Oscar) there is now way they had intentions of fighting Floyd in March
Jeez here you guys go... :-( I hate Bob Arum. I am whatever about Manny. Take a step back though. Why in the hell would Arum alone walk away from this much money? Not likely. The ONLY way he does this is if Manny is scared to drug test. Look back at history. Hell the fight was all but finalized because FMJ gave Arum everything he wanted. Agreeing to testing. Arum was gung ho about getting this done. So was Roach. Manny was in PI and dead silent. All of this could be done over fax (leaving a physical record), but strangely Arum hops his old butt on a 15 hour flight. Flying that long is a life or death issue for a man of his age. He returns from PI and all hell breaks loose. Why? Because Manny broke it down for him... "I can't take these tests." This fight ain't happening because Manny ain't testing. No if, ands, or buts about it.
I think Floyd is intimidated by margarito, but margarito is a piece of **** who doesn't deserve to fight anymore.
You are as stupid as Rhino718. Go listen to a Mike Tyson interview, or Ali, or Leonard. Bet you find every single one of them admitting fear of one boxer or another.
