Old George Foreman batters Joyce to bits over the length of the fight with his longer and better jab. Late stoppage is my guess. Young George Foreman gets right into his grill and it's over by the halfway mark. Joyce just seems too slow and hittable against a tough opponent with elite power.
Joyce quite honestly to me is the poor mans version of George Foreman. He’s a big lumbering heavy handed guy with a good chin, but lacks even normal speed and is slow footed.. George even the old George was faster had a better in ring IQ and better power. So for me any version of George wins most likely by stoppage.
Old George would finally have the hand speed advantage! He punishes Slow Joyce with the jab, until a mercy stoppage.
"Big" George Foreman would be the little guy here, like he would against most SHWs so i wouldn't call him big. That being said he would whoop Joyce's ass. even old Foreman Who the hell voted Joyce, i just want to talk to you
People like to compare Joyce to Foreman and I get it, he's slow a bit ponderous at times and has clubbing power, but he's no George Foreman. One thing that Joyce doesn't do that made Foreman so effective was physically bully his faster, smaller opposition. Foreman would of not gotten caught half as much vs Takam, because he would of manhandled Takam using framing, collar ties, guard manipulation etc. Takam simply wouldn't of had the same opportunities to load up and punch vs Foreman because he'd constantly be moved out of position and forced to reset all the time. If Joyce added this aspect to his game he would become a far more dangerous fighter, it's a glaring weakness in his game when you consider how big and heavy he is. Not many heavies could deal with a 2m tall 260-265lbs heavyweight manhandling them. Foreman's jab is superior to Joyce's because of his use of the lead hand to control opponents. Foreman would also have the speed advantage for once and I think Foreman hits harder too, his punch technique while ugly is superior to Joyce in terms of generating power. Joyce does move better than Foreman but I don't see him able to avoid Foreman's power. Foreman stops him inside 5 rounds.
George UD imo. There are some similarities (granite chins, thudding heavy hands power rather than explosive snapping power) but George was much more skilled, and not as slow. I do think Joe is durable enough to go the distance but he would get outboxed.
