Big George Foreman Vs Johnny Nelson

We only have two real fights we can compare.

Foreman vs Young (Foreman lost)
Nelson vs Thompson (Nelson won)

Make of that what you will.

 

Nelson could run around for awhile and frustrate George, but Foreman would eventually catch up with him and get the stoppage.

 

Okay...Young was a legitimate heavyweight contender, Nelson never was. Foreman was way stronger than Thompson.

 

Nelson was a title holder and Young wasn't.

Foreman was stronger but Thompson had great stamina.

I'm saying Nelson should be a slight favourite for wide points or stoppage.

 

Foreman would Chase Nelson around all night Nelson might get dropped a few times and land the odd fast jab but would probably survive to lose every round. It would be a case of stand still and let me hit you for foreman.

 

The bolded part is where I almost lost it laughing out loud. Young was at the very top of the heavyweight division. He didn't technically win the heavyweight title, but many feel he beat Ali and the Norton decision was debatable. Nelson won an alphabet cruiserweight title. This hardly has any bearing on how he would do against Foreman.

I doubt even Nelson or his family would think Johnny Nelson would have beaten George Foreman.

Nelson stunk up the joint because he was afraid to engage a faded Carlos Deleon.

Nelson was never a legitimate heavyweight contender.

 

Nelson was a champion for many years. Therefore all of his championship fights put him above young who was basically a journeyman. He only won about 60% of his fights ffs.

 

I can't believe anybody would take this thread seriously. I popped in through curiousity. it's 5 minutes of my life I will never get back...
