Big George Foreman vs Lennox Lewis

It's incredible how much leeway Lewis gets given inspite of his two one punch ko losses. Foreman is perfectly capable of cracking that face and no Lewis did not always fight flawless fights

 

Foreman ko’ s Lewis in a fight that resembles Lewis vs Mercer early. Foreman was too heavy handed with every punch for Lewis who would probably get wobbled by Foreman’s telephone pole jab at some point. Lewis’ chin was his Achilles heel against heavy handed fighters although his champion heart was almost always enough to overcome it. Pretty sure Lewis would wobble Foreman a few times before his own consistently wobbling legs finally gave way and he got dropped like a sack.

I have a great deal of respect for Lewis, great champion, but Gearge Foreman is apparently grossly underrated judging by the posts I’ve read on this thread. Anyone who doesn’t understand how unnaturally strong Foreman was, and not just for his era, really lacks the credibility to add much to any debate on this fight, IMO. Go back and watch Lewis vs Mercer and Lewis Vs Vitali if you want to see how much trouble Lewis had with heavy handed fighters, and neither is even close to Foreman’s power.

 

People really believe Lewis could piece Foreman up at range and win a dec lol. Dude had slow feet. Foreman cut the ring off on fighters that were a lot quicker than Lewis. It will turn into a gruelling brawl at some point and I’d have to go with the guy with heavier hands and far more proven chin.

 

Lewis didn't have slow feet, he could be unbalanced at times but in general his movement and control of distance was superior to most. Only fighter who really was able to get to Lewis with regularity was Mercer and much of that was to do with the tiny sized ring. Apart from maybe Fury, Lewis has the best movement of any modern day super heavy.

Foreman's ability to cut off the ring was helped by his size, he was often the taller, bigger man with the bigger reach and would physically manipulate smaller men into positions he could get to them, something he'd struggle to do vs the bigger Lewis. I think Foreman has a harder time getting to Lewis than anyone he's ever fought. Still think Foreman gives him hell, perhaps even KO's him but it's not out of the realm of possibility Lewis can out box him for 12 rounds.

Any other night Foreman could one punch him out of there.

 

people who fought for George is crazy or trolling he was to slow lack of defense how would he win he would get outboxed and koed lennox skills was better then ali 70s and he hit way harder

if people vote for George well he should have beat Jimmy who wasnt close to lennox skill level see how it makes no sense to pick George

George Foreman did not have a granite chin in the 70s stop the lies. He had a better one than Lewis but it was not granite

He got dropped by cotton fisted Jimmy Young, almost got knocked out by Ron Lyle and got KO'd by Ali. He does not have a granite chin.
