Foreman just saying that because he believes he could beat Louis, and he probably could. Who he couldn't beat was, The greatest, Ali.:yep
Foreman sat helpless as Bernard Hopkins dismantled Foreman's favorite pick, Trinidad. It was very sad listening to Foreman spout out one inaccuracy after the other during that fight. It made Foreman's stock and boxing knowledge tumble down to the myopic sub-levels of Merchant and Bernstein.
His claim that a shot decrepit alcoholic version of ****ey hit him harder than any man ever did, what do you make of that one IB? :think
I've no problem with it. Cooney has been largely reduced to a punchline but he was quite underrated. Granted he wasn't the same force as when he fought Holmes, but power is the last to go. Also, in his comeback, despite still possessing a terrific chin, I think George felt the blows a bit more than he used to. Lakusta rocked him to his core, ffs..
:good Yeah I can see that, felt them a bit more but at the same time took A LOT more shots than he used to. Very impressive that his chin held up as long as it did. ****ey hadn't even turned 34 yet when he fought Big George, but he looked almost a decade older! Just thinking.... What a short bit of fun a Cooper/****ey fight would have been!
I always liked Merchant for his word play, the man knows how to speak behind a microphone you have to give him that.... But yeah Big Al has an encyclopedic knowledge of the sweet science.
