I think even Tom Little could probably beat Lucas "Stay Down" Browne.

First thing I thought when I saw it was that it was a clear dive. He normally boxes okay Big Daddy, and is certainly a capable boxer. However he let this novice wing punches that had literally nothing on them round the side of his head and went down off nothing. The Allen fight was clear as day too, though he just saw an opportunity to rather get his corner throw the towel in stay down off a body shot that looked half decent.

    ****ing cheat.

I have mate yes, put down by a very good body puncher when I used to box (in sparring not in a contest.)

I still believe Lucas took a dive there. He took a couple of steps back then drops to his knees and looks down, before getting to one knee and gradually being okay after that. You’ll have seen authentic body shot knockouts - look at Macklin vs GGG - that shot completely disabled Macklin. There are sometimes where someone is completely disabled just on their knees but you see the difference than Browne’s reaction. See Andrade vs Bute II - he is still but you can see the difference in his breathing.

I stand by that the fix was on for that fight, Browne made the towel comment in the corner then gets caught with a good body shot and decides to go and stay down from it.

    dont disagree there
but i think allen caught him right on that floating rib
i have had it done and it makes you realize how vulnerable the body is
    you just cant do anything
    except try to breath
    you obviously know

$59.99 Aus Dollars = £33-40 as of this morning.

Absolute mugs paying for that, just watched the "fight" on YouTube.

Browne was finished after Dave Allen, he is now even lower than a journeyman. Hang them up, Lucas.

It was clear as day that Browne took a dive there. The shot probably did hurt him but the circumstantial evidence is overwhelming. There were suspicious betting patterns for that round and the fight was investigated after. There is clear footage of Browne saying to his corner before the final round saying “next round towel” twice while his cornerman looks visibly disappointed after hearing it.

As said above, Browne was probably planning on having the towel thrown in to give Allen the KO in that round but then saw the opportunity to sell a semi-decent bodyshot.

Browne is a disgrace if you look at his IG he constantly whores himself out to Hearn and loads of British heavyweights begging for another fight under the Matchroom banner. Quite clearly he is just taking these moderately high profile domestic and overseas fights to steal some loot from a bit of spot-fixing. I just hope neither Hearn nor Warren give this guy another chance to do it on one of the British cards.

The guy threw many punches and landed next to nothing - certainly took a dive and a total disgrace.

I agree with everything you are saying. I'm just a bit perplexed as to why he would say "next round towel" after easily outboxing Allen for 2 rounds, especially when he knows cameras are all around.

You only need to take one look at the big Aussie pudding to realise he’s not the sharpest tool in the shed. He’s just an opportunistic loser who probably had zero confidence in beating Allen after the Whyte defeat and took the easy way out. Browne is a fat slug with very poor fitness, he probably realised that the Allen fight would go the distance because of David’s chin and didn’t fancy putting in some actual athletic effort.

His dive against Allen was in round 3 and his dive against Gallen was round 1. This guy is such a lummox that he just wants his easy way out quickly so he can get back to stuffing himself with sausage rolls.

I don't think that he's that dumb, though. I know that articulacy does not equate to smarts, but regardless he has always spoken well and ultimately does not come across like a complete donkey, so that's why that confuses me. The "next round towel" thing almost sounds cryptic, yet it comes across explicitly as "throw the towel in the next round". It's almost too obvious for me to take it that way without delving further into it. I did notice at the "head to head" with Gallen prior to the fight that Browne was being bested in just about every single talking point, so your assessment may be bang on that he's a plonker. I'd like to see him confronted for that. If that was Joshua or Fury, or even Whyte or somebody like that, they would be probed at least by the public, but not many people care about Browne.

I liked Browne quite a lot when he was coming up. Although he was unsophisticated, I liked his "story" and he always gave a good interview and came across well, and he would really get stuck in and give it everything he had. He was in some real tear ups. He also looked like he was adding more to his brawling style despite being old and a relative novice, but then it all went to ****. He's a shadow of that now and appears now to be a dodgy shill. That was beyond pathetic yesterday. I was genuinely a bit embarrassed and I don't know why.

Just to add, after the fight yesterday he posted an IG vid of him hiring out a Lamborghini and riding it through the streets as if he had just become a champion. Swiftly deleted. As I said, the guy is just a total buffoon.

It’s a shame because ever since his performance against Chagaev where he showed great heart I became a fan. I even (embarrassingly) tipped him to KO Whyte because I knew how open Whyte was for a KO. Just didn’t expect Browne to turn up looking like he had just eaten James Corden.

Anyone who'd seen batter the hell out of the Towering Inferno can be forgiven for thinking that the then unbeaten Browne could catch the Melon on the button and send him to sleep, I had hope at the time too!

    Browne was never good.
Better than this but he was never good.
He beat a washed-up Chagaev in a meaningless fight for a paper title and that's it. I don't know if I'd even heard of him before that.

Browne at his best was like someone you might find in a toughman/bouncer unlicensed event in Essex.
