http://boxrec.com/show/723540 2 world HW title fights on one card...has that been done before? Breazeale-Mansour should be interesting too
Szpilka-Wilder is at least decent, though I can't hype myself up for the other "title" fight. Haye is coming back on the 16th as well. Good day for the heavyweights.
if you look at that other title fight as two undefeated boxers stepping up, it's good. Fans need to get off that nonsense and just appreciate the matchup. Like what you think can influence these belts. Can't wait for this.
No, that might be a first, actually. I love that Don King is still alive to see another promoter (and not even a top one, but a secondary or tertiary player like DiBella) do so. It was probably his wet dream for decades and now he gets to squirm watching it become someone else's reality. :rofl
With you on that last part 100%... not sure I can rule out the underdogs in the championship fights, though. Glazkov if he performs down to his Rossy level could be at risk for an upset; Martin's pretty good. ...and if (big if) he can make his way inside without getting caught by a big right hand, Szpilka could start wrecking shit for Wilder in a hurry like a bull in a china shop.
There have been multiple heavyweight title fights on the same card many times. Tyson-Holyfield 1 (WBA title), Moorer-Botha (IBF title) and Akinwande-Zolkin (WBO title) were all on the same card. Holmes-Witherspoon (WBC title) and Dokes-Weaver 2 (WBA title) were on the same card. Seldon-Tucker (WBA Title) and McCall-Holmes (WBC title) were on the same card. That's just off the top of my head.
I think Szpilka's T-Rex arms (for HW) will work against him, Deontay will be on his game and hyper defensive, not take one risk, but Szpilka may luck out and drop him once or twice. I like Martin and I do give him a decent chance at an upset, but I think he needs a little more experience at this level before stepping in the ring with Glazkov. But for the record I'm rooting for Charles, I've never liked Glazkov.
Say what you want about Don king but he put on probebly some of the best boxing cards of all time and truly knew the meaning of the term stacked card There was cards he made where eddie Hearn could have made 4 PPV's out of just the fights on the one Don king card
Better get a raincoats or your clothes will get blood on them. I'll be on a plane flying over the Atlantic on the 16th....my friends have a good suite for the Haye-de Mori fight that night but I think it will be a waste of time.
