Obviously the most urgent requirement was the removal of the loud, obnoxious, completely ill-informed and nonsensical Nick Halling. Box ticked. The people they've brought in have been fantastic though.

Dave Coldwell, understated, extremely knowledgeable guy who has been journeyman pro, small-hall promoter, manager, and now trainer of world champions. Tony Bellew was ego-free and really insightful alongside Coldwell and Adam Smith as he watched Oleksander Usyk cruise to a world title win in his weight class and become a potential opponent.

Talking of Smith, forgot how good a job as lead commentator he does. Compared to Halling, he's a combination of Harry Carpenter and Ian Darke. Throw in the top class foreign fights like Kovalev vs Ward appearing on the channel, I think Sky deserve credit for putting boxing on the pedestal it deserves to be on!

Still need to get rid of Johnny Nelson he takes absolute rubbish half the time.

Good to see they actually mention boxing that isn't on Sky also. Still feel they need to educate the casuals alot more though but it's a huge step in the right direction.

Agreed about Nelson, and Spencer Fearon being employed in any way by Sky is woeful, but there have been some real improvements.

The massive problem with Sky whether it is boxing or football is they treat viewers like idiots and pretend that what the show is the only show in town and the elite of the sport "premiership the best league in the world" nonsense. Its a propaganda machine to publicise what they sell and too many commentators toe the party line and are complicit in this rubbish- Froch and Watt don't/didn't but I am struggling to name anyone else that doesn't.

Agree about Dave Coldwell though- excellent analysis and insight- hopefully he keeps it up.

I think Adam Smith is a bit annoying, he has this corporate Sky voice drilled into him that he just cannot shake off, even in IFL interviews.

Nelson is a clown and should have been booted same time as Halling. Froch gives the impression he hardly ever watches boxing, he gives no more insight that the man on the street and hardly knows any fighters outside of the elite ones.

Paulie M is hopefully going to become Sky's main man for big fights when he calls it a day. He is a fantastic analyst. Clear, concise and always interesting. He said in the 3rd round that Brook probably had a fractured eye socket because he was showing the tell-tale signs of it. None of the others paid much attention to what he was saying.

I like Matthew Macklin when he's on, speaks well, knowledgeable and a good guy.

Not on my list spencer fearon, Nelson, froch, Haye, Khan.

Does Paulie live over here now? He's in the UK for the Crolla fight (which isn't a global event like Brook-GGG) so expect he'll feature on Sky coverage. Words can hardly express my adoration of the Magic Man. Loved him as a fighter, and his commentary is rivalled only by Kellerman and Bernstein in terms of eloquence and insight.

Malignaggi is a breath of fresh air on commentary. First good commentator Sky have had since Ian Darke and Glen stopped.

Don't mind nelson as a commentator/analyst type role but the man is as bad a presenter as john Barnes was back in the day
