Afternoon all Not sure if anyone can help, but the Pogues song "A Body of an American" (as featured in "The Wire") makes a reference to a boxer called "Big Jim Dwyer". Amongst other things it mentions Dwyer's fight with a boxer called "Tiny Tartanella". I was just wondering whether anyone knows who this may refer to. It could be purely fictional, but I was just wondering whether there was a bigger picture in reference to real fighters? I've done a little bit of research on the internet already but to no avail. So I thought maybe some of the historians on the classic forum may have heard of these fighters, or know which fighters the song is referring to. Any clues would be welcome. Cheers
The full reference is; "He (Dwyer) fought the champ in Pittsburg and he slushed him to the ground; He took on Tiny Tartenella and it only went one round."
