Probably the 2 most hyped & definitely best attended fights in the uk this year have both been non title fights. Haye v chisora & hatton tonight.
Which other non title main event fights can you think of that have had a massive build up & been attended by tens of thousands of fans?

I don't think Mayweather vs Mosley was for a title, something to do with Floyd refusing to pay sanctioning fees for Mosley's WBA belt i believe.

That was a fight between 2 of the top P4P fighters at the time and sold 1.4million PPV buys, aswell as being in Las Vegas.

Pac vs JMM 4 "non title", or maybe more like "bogus title"?

Neither Haye vs. Chisora nor Hatton vs. Senchenko was very hyped here in the US, or probably anywhere outside the UK.

There were enough people interested in Haye's fight in Germany for SKY to show it there

OK, so? That's one country besides the nation of origin for Haye/Chisora/Hatton. It also doesn't take a lot of deductive reasoning to work out that German interest in Haye directly corresponds to his ongoing feud with both Klitschkos (Ukrainian, but adoptive German heroes).

Globally, neither "event" is really big.
