pac weighed 148 in his last fight. both cotto and mosley are known to weigh as much as 160 during fights @147. that's why roach is asking for a catchweight if ever pac does fight either mosley and cotto. this is but fair given the very big size/weight disparity. pac is also definitely in the driver's seat being the best fighter in boxing and its current cash cow. it should therefore be mosley and cotto willing to go down in weight to fight him and not pac moving up to fight them.

 

Yes, Roach knew DLH was washed up, but Mosley isn't, any Shane, Cotto, Clottey and Williams all come in the ring weighing about 160 pounds or more, that's a huge disadvantage for Pac, who doesn't even go into the 150s.

Remember when Corrales, taller and more drained at LW than PacMan, moved up from LW to WW to face Clottey, the less skilled, slower, less busy fighter walked through him with his physical advantages.

Why should Pac ever fight at full WW, he doesn't need it for his legacy, it's unnecessary danger and he finally reached his physical/weight limits at 140. Fighting at 143 would mean Mosley, Cotto and others would have to sacrifice going up to 160 fight night, therefore having a fair fight vs. Pac.

 

Roach and manny did not know going into the fight that oscar would weigh less than pacquiao on the fight night. They expected him to be bigger and took the fight on that basis, just not as big as he was against mayweather.

 

Maybe Mosley was calling out Pac. Cotto has not called him out but showed a willingness to accept the fight proposed by Top Rank. Get your facts straight.
