Big props for Thurman - he's a tough fighter

A lot of so called boxing fans were riding Thurman's black python until the Collazo fight. Once he got caught they have starting to bash him saying he was exposed and he would get beaten by elite fighters.:nut

Everybody gets caught sooner or later. Remember Floyd vs Maidana II fight when Floyd got hit by a big right hand delivered by Maidana - a slow-plodder-limited fighter ? :hey

Thurman deserves his props for sucking up that pain and go on. He's still learning and I see him being a legit champ at 147.:smoke

Generally I think we are at a stage where even if a fighter is rocked then fans are quickly out to criticise. It's pretty silly, seems like unless a fighter has a granite chin it will never be good enough.

Most of them didn't ever step in a boxing ring and fight, yet they are obsessed about how well a fighter can take a hard shot or how less/much he gets hit. :nut

Surprise! In a boxing match, yeah you get hit.

Thurman flatters to deceive all the time for me. He is so overhyped. Khan completely outclassed Collazo and dropped him multiple times, how Thurman thinks he can get a Mayweather fight on his CV of Guerrero and Collazo is beyond ridiculous. I think he's either super lazy or afraid of blowing in championship rounds as he seems to constantly go on the back foot after first few rounds. If he wanted a Mayweather fight he should have walked Collazo down and KO'ed him in the first 6.

Thurman deserves credit, didn't do down or take a knee. He grimaced but did a professional job and got right back to work the very next round. That was about as prone as you can get caught on the ribs. Anybody that has ever been hit to the body (sparring/real fight) can tell you those shots are debilitating. Crazy how many guys can take headshots, but get hurt to the body.

Not sure why people want to throw Thruman to the wolves for taking a good shot and fighting through it.

Maidana is not a slow limited plodder, he was before but not for a while.

I've got no problem with Thurman for the most part, but if you are going to bill your self as a big puncher like he does he shouldn't be playing the stick and move role against a guy like Collazo. He was pretty much running at times while Collazo was stalking him. You would think he would want to go toe to toe and "one time" him. But hey, thats just me. Good fighter but I doubt he would lay a glove on Floyd if they were to fight

All of this just shows that Thurman can be hurt- and by a 2nd or 3rd tier fighter.

I agree that he was running. He was hurt and did what he felt he had to at that point.

I disagree with the constant comment made by fans that "that shot would have dropped everyone else, a tyrannosaurus, etc.." No one knows that. It could be he is weak when it comes to rib or body shots. I expect we'll see.

I'll bet that anyone he fights from here on out will be hunting for his ribs, liver, etc. He should expect that.

Left hook to the body is khans best shot but he doesnt use it near enough
Keith needs to learn to fight going backwards not turn around and run and he took the body shot well and recovered well

The way he managed to keep his feet and composure and ride out the round is what it's all about.

A lot of guys would of folded. It was a tremendous shot, you could see the pain on his face.

It is not just the big body shot that bothered many fans. Yes he got the TKO however he did not look like he was in charge at that point in the fight. Colozzo was walking him down consistently. Fans have decided in this era that they would rather see "Fighting" then watching a guy get a few shots in and then go on his bicycle after the other fighter decides to hit him back. Bottom line, Thruman's stock went down from this fight.
