. . . Pavlik's corner. Bhops came in there ready . . . with a perfect plan and executed it. He deserves the highest props for doing that to a 26 years old fighter when he is already 43. . . . as to Pavlik . . . no ****i'n excuses for that lost. That lost highlighted Pavlik's limitation . . . he cannot cope up with moving opponents. :deal His corner people especially his trainer deserves to be sacked. They sent in their fighter in there totally unaware of what Bhops is capable of doing. They didn't do their assignment . . . no research . . . all HYPE. They were all ****i'n lost and don't know what to do and what to say. :-( So screw them . . . I'm not blaming Pavlik.
ya know I havent watched the fight just read about it here and in the newspaper and heard a couple of guys talking about it but you might have a point pavlicks corner didnt seem to have any sort of gameplan
At the end of the day Pavlik's a grown-ass man, a professional, and a world champion. At some point the onus is on you to perform regardless of how unprepared your corner may have you. That's what separates the good ones from the truly great ones. The truly great ones will rise to the occasion despite the circumstances and make whatever adjustments necessary to rescue a "W" from the jaws of defeat by any means necessary.
If these people only watched and studied the Bhops vs Taylor; Wright, Tarver and Calzaghe fights at least they should have known that nobody wins against Bhops flat footed and standing in the middle of the ring. After seing the first 3 rounds I already knew Bhops would own Pavlik because the corner made those rounds pass without any adjustments in their fight plans. All they can say is "double up your jab". They all came in there unprepared.
They thought of one as the fight went on - between later rounds (I forget exactly which) you could hear his corner telling him to "do what Calzaghe did" or something similar. I felt a little sorry for Pavlik at that point.
Like I said I'm not blaming Pavlik . . . but everything starts from training . . . his stupid corner didn't give him any good advice from the start to the finish . . . which indicates they are clueless of how Bhops moves and fights. . . . if your fighter already lost the first four rounds . . . then it's obvious that they have to make adjustments on their fight plan . . . in this case non until the last round.
That's what I heard too . . . "got to fight" . . . "got to keep busy" . . . "got to double up your jab". :rofl
Yeah, I gotta give the man props. One of the best performances of his career if not his best. He sure as hell doesn't fight like a 43 year old.
After his 1st loss, now we're gonna get Pavlik to split up a relationship they/ve had for 17 yrs., one which brought them this far? But if they've hit a dead end, maybe it it time. Just like this loss could be detrimental to his future, a break up might guarantee it.
The fact the his corner people was unable to prepare him properly against a fighter like Bhops only shows . . . his teams limited capability. It's OK to lose . . . losing is part of this sports . . . but at least make your fighter competitive and dignified in a loss. Well if they knew right from the start the Pavlik has no chance to least put up a decent fight . . . then they shouldn't have signed for the fight.
Both of us we're confident Pavlik could do it, right? I guess Lowe saw it the same way. Talk about being so far off base. Just hope Kelly learns volumns from this.
Why not? He's the one who got in there in fought. Are you saying Hopkins' corner, and not Hopkins, deserves all the credit for the win?
