Find it quite strange Sam Jones has all his young lads with Eddie and his big star with Frank. Would make more sense the other way round. Great signing for Frank though
Whatever anyone thinks of Frank, it's good to have two decent sized promotions in any country. Plenty room for Joe and Queensberry.
Big Jug. Glad he’s stuck with Frank. If he signed with Hearn he’d be fighting on the undercard of a Matchroom USA card.
Immediate gut reaction - surprised he's stuck around. But on reflection it makes perfect sense. He's probably Queensberry's top heavyweight, given that Fury is now a Top Rank fighter in all but name. The reception he got at Wembley shows he's become very popular too - ticket seller and probably a BT Sport Box Office for his title fight too. At Matchroom, he'd be lucky to be their third British HW behind Joshua and Whyte - and I can't see Eddie giving him a headline billing ahead of a Matchroom lifer, given his age. I'm sure he's made a pretty penny out of the renewal too. Good luck to him, I like JJ and he's a bloody tough fight for anyone.
Fwank has handled him pretty well. One decent test against a youth that was equally unproven, a good workout from Jennings and a few past their sell by dates that most decent prospects should cope with. Got him in a nice position for a bite at Fury or Joshua if he can beat one ranked name and a cherry pick or two.
I've become quite a fan of the big juggernaut and I like how his career has developed to this point and how he's now a bona fide top contender. Gives any other heavyweight a hard fight IMO. I think staying with Warren will turn out well for him. He's became Queensbury's main man and somebody somebody BT can milk some PPV loot from, aside from Fury (who'd be fighting at 4-5 am in the UK) Warren doesn't have much else to offer BT for PPV fights and with Joyce's growing popularity and reputation maybe BT will give him a big push as their star attraction for boxing/PPV cash cow. Getting opponents will be the hard part cos nobody wants a war with big juggernaut.
Joyce makes sense for Frank cause Hearns has too much stock in AJ, all his other heavyweights become AJs bodyguard. You want AJ you got to go through Dillian Whyte.
Who has beaten Whyte to earn a title shot at AJ? If anything guys who AJ haen beaten end up fighting Whyte after e.g Parker and Povetkin.
He's doing just fine with Frank. A lot of it is his own fault but Whyte has been with Hearn about 6 years and hasn't fought for a world title yet. Matchroom isn't the be all and end all of British boxing. Joyce is similar to Josh Taylor in that he didn't really tie himself down to a broadcaster early on, fought on some big shows across different channels (Haye v Bellew on Sky, DeGale v Eubank on ITV, Wilder v Fury on BT etc) and has got himself into world title contention after a small number of fights. If he was with Matchroom he'd be much further back in his career by now.
