A lot of talk about Ruiz weight...but he will of been doing plenty of 12 round sparring sessions and will know by now whether he is fit enough or not...Rumours would of come out of the gym if he was struggling with anything...he is definitely heavy but I don’t see it being an issue for Ruiz. The guy is a freak of nature in terms of athletic ability and body shape.

his chest is huge, so are his shoulders. hes going to be much stronger than first fight, gonna manhandle aj in the clinches. that low center of gravity will conserve a lot of energy as they push on each other, tiring aj out faster. im not worried about the weight, his speed and timing look on point in the work out clips ive seen.

I have a feeling Ruiz don't give a **** anymore.. he got paid and is getting paid again and no other fight will make him this kind of money again... hope I'm wrong, but I think Andy is taking the easy money and doesn't care what happens in the ring tomorrow.

****ing disgraceful to come into the fight in worse shape.

It's good Povetkin is on the card so we can get an idea just what a gluttonous pig Ruiz truly is. These two are around the same height, Povetkin is muscular, but flabby at 230lbs (guy is 40 yrs old also though).
Ruiz is 50lbs heavier, all pure blubber! Hard to comprehend!

We've also got a clue as to how much he eats. He claims the extra 15lbs is because he had a meal before the weigh in. So we now know he's eating 10-15lbs of food every sitting, which is roughly two adult sized cats, lol.

The obesity of Ruiz is so remarkable it's actually fascinating to see. On one hand his added blubber is shocking and doesn't bode well for this fight. But the positive is if he beats Joshua even fatter than last time, it makes the destruction of Joshua all the funnier.

Highest weight =/= worse shape, particularly for a lifelong endomorph. People sputtering in outraged disbelief and besides themselves over 282 would probably have never believed somebody could become heavyweight champ weighing 267. But guess what?

They're obviously not planning on chasing AJ. So, they went for the extra bulk and power. They'll goad AJ into coming forward, and use Aj's compulsion to entertain/redeem himself against him - then crack him with the counters.

You are correct that Ruiz could not gain that much quickly. Especially when his camp was 1/2 the time.
Though folks on various steroids & potentiators can gain as much as newbies & more.
Ruiz could have gained very few lbs. of muscle, or none at all.

Here's my take on Ruiz & his weight.
    1) He works hard & has maximized his ability at this size.
    2) Likely he both feels better heavy, loves to eat & drink, & wants to rationalize being this size.
    3) He may well have some sort of metabolic issue, if not insulin resitance. But his body is acclimated to fat.
    4) I think he would both never be lean, but if he lost the weight sloly & steadily, perhaps with plateaus...
He would be best at ~ 235.

    5) That would, I estimate, be ~ 25% body fat. More than most, but any reduced punch resistance would not be great.
And his greater speed would mean he could hit abou as hard.
But it would have to somewhat improve both his foot speed & his endurance. Even if the latter is good now.

Still, he may well have the style & skills to take Joshua out again.
I am rooting for him both as a decent human being, the underdog still...
And I like a non-standard, huge build dude being able to compete with the "approved" physiques.

Silly for him to have pretended he was coming in lighter.
But this body shaming, fat slob talk about a hard worker & kind man is childish & wrong.

I also wish the moderators here would not trade insults with & fight personally, then ban, either trolls or those they disagree with.
Even if we agree in our support of Ruiz, getting down in the gutter with the verbally abusive does not help the tone, level & comfort of this forum.

    Thanks for listening all.

    I think so.

Full belly, fully hydrated. 10lb dookie in the breech, 10lbs of clothing, jewelery and shoes.

I suspect his real weight to be 260 - ish...

Replay of Buster Douglas in the Holyfield fight after the Tyson upset. He ballooned up to 300 lbs.

Ruiz may have lined his pockets with gold or rocks. He may also feel strong at this weight.

Regardless he needs a KO to win and given the heavier he is the more power he will carry, it makes some sense.
