    Dempsey and Johnson couldve been the biggest, didnt happen.

    Johnson Vs Jeffries was a big fight.

    Ali involved in a couple rippers.

    While Johnson fought in the 20s, he was in his 40s then - which is like the 60s nowadays. I doubt Dempsey against an old man would have been a big fight :lol:

    Many fights thoughout the history of boxing have been billed as the fighting of the century, decade, year whatever. The outcome is what dictates a fights place in history, not the build-up. Build-up can be forgotten as soon as the fight starts. I dont know how many of our posters are old enough to remember the build-up to Holmes vs Cooney, it was un-****ing real. It seems like the network news was doing a daily report from both camps. But the fight was a one-sided fight, now its a fight that is seen as somewhat a Joke.
