Not even close. If you take out the bogus knockdown in the 11th then a point deduction for the excessive low blows, still this would have been a very close fight. The PW/Lara ain't close. It's a clear win for Lara. Something like 8 rounds to 4.
Interesting question. Lara deserved to win by a wider margin than did Agbeko. Lara only had the judgez against him, though. Agbeko had the judges AND the referee. :think
Same way i see it, the Lara/Williams fight was actually the worst robbery i have ever seen live. You see someone getting completely schooled and then awarded the victory. I was rooting for Williams and was still mad at the robbery.
Lara is the right answer. But it was painful as hell to watch a fighter not be protected by the ref, at all.
Mares won a close, foul filled fight both were fighting dirty, but Lara now he got robbed. Pwilly sad to say, but hes not world class anymore. Sergio ruined him like Tarver did with Rj.
Williams/Lara by far, that is a hard one to beat. The ref in the Mares/Agbeko fight did appear to be biased for Mares. Granted Agbeko did pull Mares head down and that added to the number of low blows, but the low blow toward the end of the fight was blatantly low and the ref continued to claim it was belt line. Without the low blows, who knows, it may have been Agbeko's fight.
Different dynamics, Mares couldve won the fight regardless of the no calls so its morem like Agbeko got cheated out of a fair fight and not a decision. On the other hand, Lara was straight up robbed of the decision.:bbb:bbb:bbb
