Theres a certain way for a tall rangy man to work the body but Hearns gets it all wrong giving up his height and leaving him wide open for that right haymaker

Hearns loss to Barkley was much bigger ...

Curry had recently been exposed by Honeygan .. McCallum was a terrific reigning champ in a higher weight class and a bigger man ...

    Hearns-Barkley was much more shocking.

Put it this way, Barkley was probably a huge underdog going in to the fight. I dont know the odds, but 4-1, 5-1, even 10-1 wouldn't surprise me.
But imagine what you could have got while that third-round was underway ! Barkley looked like a long shot to survive the round, and a 10,000-1 shot to win the fight

Have to disagree with this, Hearns rights hook to the body was awesome, he generated serious power with that shot

    Note:

Barkley was the underdog against Hearns, but Barkley was also gettin' his ass kicked when he landed the hail Mary shot on Hearns' jaw in rd. 3...

Curry was slightly ahead after 4 rds against McCallum, and was coming on good in rd. 5 too, until he got caught by McCallum's hook... SPLAT!

I'd say though that McCallum one-punching a fighter of Curry's class was very shocking. He never had a history of big KO's like that. With Barkley, you know he had the power and that Hearns could be hurt, although no one could have seen it coming the way the fight was going. Barkley was nearly broken in half by those body shots, and somehow landed a haymaker with his right hand.

In truth, neither Hearns or Curry being whacked out was foreseen moments before the knockouts' occurred...
