Hatton will be remembered as the guy who failed against Mayweather. A bit like Frank Bruno was for the Tyson fights. Maybe Hatton could do some panto when he retires, I could see that.
Hatton and it's not close, either. Calzaghe is popular with boxing fans in Britain. Hatton is immensely popular in the mainstream in Britain, and the world likes him a lot more too.
Well, he pulled off the impossible once vs. Tszyu and rightfully popular for doing that. Also he's become the lineal LWW champ in the process, won a title at WW and his career is far from the end so it's not bad. Of course Calzaghe is now among the very best of the last 25 years. But Hatton accomplistments are far more superior than anyone have ever predicted for him in his early years, so maybe that's why he's so popular.
Hatton is English and m ore people tune into his fights, but there isnt a lot in it and Joe Calzaghe will be remembered long after his retirement.
Hatton is the bigger name easily. Fair play to him as well he took on the bigger fights Joe never would. It was Hatton who inspired Joe to get in the ring with Bernard.
If Hatton is remembered more it'll be disappointing. I really can't stand Hatton's style and hasn't done anything noteworthy since Kostya. He needs to fight Witter! If he fights Mayweather again, it will be seriously depressing, Mayweather will make Hatton look stupid again, and I hate when Mayweather makes people look stupid!
